Hello.I have an ASUS P5VD2-MX SE MOBO , INTEL pentium D processor with stock heatsink/fan(i just ordered a Zelman heatsink/fan that should be coming soon), 2 gigs of Kingston DDR2 ram, (1) WD Raptor 250 gb SATA HD. I think that i am not getting the most out of my system, and want to overclock it. The only problem is that i am not sure how to do that. In my bios, there is a setting DRAM frequency. Default was 400 mhz, i set it to 533 mhz but no change. Can anyone teach me how to OC and where i am able to do it, be it via BIOS or other software. THanks
What do you plan to use this PC for?
What video card are you using? You could possibly overclock that and not even have to oc the cpu/ram
Go to nVidia and download a program called nTune. this is an application that you can use to tweak your video card. You can also up the GPU fan to compensate for the heat. it also has a stability test option. I would try this before trying to OC your CPU/RAM because it is a little more controllable. Hope this helps.

gaming. I already use it for gaming, and its fine, but it spontaneously lags.
I am using it for everything, gaming, schoolwork, movies, etc. overclocking is mainly a concern for gaming because my computer spontaneously lags while playing.
i just dont know how to raise the bus speed. where can i find this option in my bios?
