Hi have a look here:
http://www.printcountry.com/faq-troubleshooting-refill-kits.asp
What should I do if the printer does not print after refilling the cartridge?

  1. Step 1: Run the print-head cleaning mechanism (described in your inkjet printer's manual) and attempt to print a few pages.
  2. Step 2: If this procedure does not work, using the syringe supplied in your refill kit, inject air into the top air vent to clean the nozzles. A small amount of ink should be emitted from the nozzles upon injection. (The nozzle is the porous metal piece at the bottom of the cartridge)
  3. Step 3: If this procedure does not work your print-head nozzles are probably blocked with dried ink. At this point use the syringe to take out as much ink as possible from your cartridge and read on to the next section.

I suggest that you should replaced it with a new one since it is not reusable nor recycle.

Message about ink asorber full keeps appearing

When the printer is not being used, the print-heads slide to their "resting" position,
in order to keep the ink-jets moist, i.e., to NOT dry-out.

Some ink is absorbed into that INK-ABSORBER.

Now, after a few years of usage, that ink-absorber is "full".

Like taking-out the garbage from your kitchen waste-basket when it gets full, and replacing the full waste-basket with an empty waste-basket, it's time to get your printer serviced -- replace the "full" ink-absorber with an "empty" ink-absorber.

Note that CANON printers do not actually "measure" the fullness -- they electronically estimate the fullness, given information about how much you print, and how often you print, and the "density" of the pages that you do print (text is much less dense than colour-photos).

It is a shop repair since you have to use Canon diagnostics to reset the count and clear the error. The new part is around $10.00 only.

Ink absorber is full

You would need to take it to a canon service centre..

Or look on ebay, i thinks its just cotton wool type wadding thats in there but i dont know exactly where it would be inside the printer.

Plus for the same of about £15 if anything goes wrong they have to fix it.

The waste ink disposal is almost full and it won't print

The waste ink absorber is almost full. Press [OK] to continue but early replacement recommended. <See manual>
WASTE INK NEAR FULL The printer has a built-in waste ink absorber to hold the ink used during print head cleaning, for example. This error message indicates that the waste ink absorber is nearly full.
Press the OK button to cancel the error so you can continue printing.
Before the waste ink absorber becomes completely full, contact a Canon1.gif service representative. (You will need to replace a particular part of the printer.) Canon recommends that you call for service as soon as this error occurs. Once the waste ink absorber becomes completely full, printing cannot be performed until the Waste ink tank is replaced.
