Film holder problem

The scanner will not pull in the 35mm negative holder after insertion. The scanner is correctly installed with driver and the computer screen shows the instruction to insert the holder.

Minolta Scan Dual II almost dead - light blinks but only slight motor noise, will not pull carrier in, also computer does not confirm scanner ( i.e. " no scanner attached " message ). I'm mystified - any ideas?

Mine would not **** the holder in either. I took it out and in several times. click the scan arrow, then you get an error if it does not **** the tray in, clear the message about the holder by clicking "ok" and then with both hands push gently and right as the line gets to the curve of the door it will **** it in. Touchy touchy.
Now if I could get rid of the green to blue negative scans?? I would be very happy.

Try this
Turn on the scaner (diode is blinking), then run aplication DS Dual3
After start application you sould hear the transport mechanism test.
The green diode should light permanently (important).
Push deeper the holder.

The 35mm strips won,t fit in my holder how should I be inserting them in the holder

The holder that takes 35 mm negative strips on one side and 4, 35 mm slides on the other has a plastic frame that holds the 35 mm film in place. To load film you have to first remove that frame by putting your finger in the opening by the large "A" and popping that end up. The frame fits in only one direction and must be clipped back in by first engaging the two small fingers into openings at the end opposite to the "A" and the lowering the retainer down snapping the 3 sets of 3 clips as you work toward the "A".

My canon lide 700f will not calibrate to scan a 35mm film

For those having the "Executes calibration. Pull out the film and place the Film Adapter Unit at Frame 1." issue and cannot calibrate the scanner for NEGATIVE FILM, it took me ages to figure out how to solve it.
Solution: calibrate the frame, WITHOUT any film, adapter plug and placed in frame 1, and proceed to do the calibration WITH THE SCANNER COVER OPEN.
Before I tried everyhing, install new drivers for Windows 8.1, MP Navigator, and nothing happen. Now it works like the first day. Hope it helps! it certainly helped me.

Will not recognize 5th image on negative strip because 4 and 5 overlap (slight double exposure). How do I scan 5th image?

I inserted my negative holder in backwards on my Nikon 5000 35 mm scanner. Then I could get the last (5th) slide scanned. But I can not get the scanner to work on my new IMac because of no working driver. Silver Fast has no drivers for the Nikon 5000

I just had the same problem, turned out my FAU cable was not properly connected. Ensure that the cable is all the way inserted at the back of your printer, and connect the device to your computer. I hope this will work for you too:)

Where do i put the negative to scan on hp g3010 scanner

On the lid there are thin plastic rails that frame two 35mm Negatives. Place the film in that holder, framing what you wish.

Check HP's site for the owners manual for advanced settings for your specific model to get the best results from your Negative or as HP calls it Transparent Materials Adapter (TMA)

Good luck

Loading negative film in holder.

The button under the top door is for ejecting the film strip. To load negatives you just insert them until the machine recognizes them and then it will automatically load them.

I am tring to scan my 35mm negatives

Select scan. When the window pops up look in the upper right hand corner of the window. You will see select source: drop down menu give you choices which includes negative film. Just select it. Then drop negatives into holder. Oh, make sure you remove the cover sheet that slides in and out of the cover.

No option to scan Film Negatives

In order to see these options, you must have the Film Adapter Unit (FAU) attached to the scanner. The FAU is designed to scan in 35mm film, either positive or negative. The scanner has no options to scan in mounted 35mm slides.

Does the scanner work for scanning at all? If not, you may have a communication problem between the computer and the scanner, i.e., the computer doesn't know how the scanner is configured so it doesn't show the options. If it's a communication problem, check for any other USB devices that might interfere with communication. Especially, some printers seem to take over communications. Try disconnecting all other USB devices (except keyboard, mouse, etc.), reboot, and see if the situation corrects itself.

Also, try the online troubleshooting database for this model at this link.
