I bought a 2003, 32 inch samsung dynaflat hdtv 1080i for 150 bucks it worked fine the first couple days but i get the feeling i was taken advantage of...here's the deal it shut off by itself for about a month every once in a while id be watching tv and the screen would go black but I could here sound still then it would turn off happend off and on for about a month until it shut off one time and never turned back on, when i plug it in the tv acts dead when i push the power button no noise or nothing but..one clue..when it's plugged in i can hear a faint ticking noise that sounds like it's coming from around the picture tube area...cant be sure exactly where it's coming from but it's real faint..please somebody help!!! my wife has already ripped me a new one for buying it and now this!! can it be fixed? and is it worth fixing the tv is extremely heavy...the product number listed under product is wrong it wont let me submit this without it so i jus clicked that one so please disregard it, the right number is txm3297hf

i have a Dynaflat , with similar issues. it shuts down after 5-10 mins of watching . when the problem first started 9 months ago , i could turn it back on right away, but now, it wouldn't come back on for another 2-3hrs. it was under warranty, technician looked at it, said TV not worth the time and money needed to fix it. TV was hardly used

Dez,
The ticking indicates a feed back on the power supply - most likely the shutdown circuit itself because something up-circuit is shorted. MY first guess would be the HOT (Horizontal Output Transistor) - Second guess the FBT or Flyback Transformer...
I might have the service manual for that, just email me personally and make it clear what you're after. I get nearly 3000 emails a day and I be real lucky to remember what this is all about when I get the mail...

Samsung sold the LNS4695DX/X as a 1080P TV it only 1080i

Nothing broadcast in 1080p....nothing. You probably just need to set your blu-ray player to output 1080p most will default to low resolution. A 1080i max TV is very rare these days.

My Samsung LN40A530 only produces a blank blue screen whenever I try to use an HDMI input source. Audio seem to come through fine but not the video. Other, non-HDMI video inputs work fine. I've tried...

We are having the same problem. We have 2 DVD players with up-converter to 1080i and 1080p. Both DVD work fine (one Sony and one Samsung) with our Samsung LN-T4053H upstairs, never intermittent.

LN40A530 downstairs is having "Searching for Signal" problem. Took it back to Sears got a new one, problem followed. Something is wrong with this LN40A530. Perhaps firmware update is needed.

Screen is filled with a circular Red/Green/Blue pattern

The problem will be with the de-gausing circuit, this de-magnetises the tube when the set is switched on from cold, this is a fault you will need to get an engineer to look at ie, not a D.I.Y repair.
