Question about Sapphire RADEON X1650, (512 MB) Graphic Card

2 Answers

Graphics card upgrade.

I replaced an earlier ATI with the X1650.Now when I start,I get a full screne of vertical color bars...and that's it.

I have an Asus board with no onboard video, the X1650,and a 19" CRT.
Sound familiar to anyone??

I have recently upgraded my operating system on my computer from XP to windows 7. since then my ATI X1650 PRO graphics card has been stopped by windows with the following message: "Windows has stopped...

go to device manager and click on display adapter then right click on ATI X1650 then run an update. It might be because the driver on your computer is not update with the driver that is not compatible with windows 7. Hope this would help. Thanks.

Radeon X1650 Pro agp

you can buy ANY agp card at all to use for diagnostics. go here, and buy any of these.;55_158_2064_2064
i think you should remove the card and re install it. sometimes these bars you see can be caused by the card not making full contact. this would be my 1st step. then i would attempt to replace with a different card for diagnostic purposes. if you have a friend with an agp card, this is identified by a brown colored slot that the card goes into, i would borrow his to test. if it clears up then buy a new card. i recently had the same problem. when i pulled and put back my card it got no better. so i tested a new card and it was fine. check the warranty on your video card. some manufacturers like xfx and evga offer lifetime warrantees. just check your maunfacturer and see. if it has a lftm warranty they will issue you an rma (return merchandise authorization). this will let you ship it back to them and they will test and repair or most generally replace it. in my case it was an xfx geforce 9800 gt. they replaced it with a 9800 gtx. a much better card that has better cooling and cost $100 more than my old gt. they did this because they didn't have the gt in stock and i guess they figured i game too hard for a gt and they didn't want to replace it again. lol

Can i run ati radeon x1650 512 on asus k8N motherboard

Yes you can run the AGP version of the Radeon 1650 pro on your system. It is always best & recommended to upgrade memory in pairs. You could upgrade to `gb by purchasing a 1 gb kit which would be 512 x 2. That way you have a matching pair of RAM modules. As for a cpu upgrade you can go to the Asus website and see what cpu's are supported by your motherboard. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

ATI RADEON X1650 Pro Problem

The graphics card might not be working in sync with your processor. Get it checked WHY this is happening. Probably a faulty connection somewhere. See if you can find one before getting it checked.
