Question about Samsung HC-P4752W 47" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

Thankss ok heres the deal. I wasn't able to clarify what was wrong with the tv because i really dont know much which i'm sure isn't a surprise to you. I turned on my tv and the picture was double..As in everything had a reflection. Not only that but my colors were off. I was told by a samsung technician that it was the convergence. He offered to fix it but asked for way too much $. So i asked around and a friend of mines who has some experience with tv tried to fix it. What she did was ordered new stk 392-010. She replaced them on the original board. When she was done we turned the tv on and the problem was still the same. I took it to a technician that was recommended to me and he said that it was placed properly and the circuit board was fine that all i needed to do was set a code to align the colors. Besided that everything is fine. We can hear it and you can see the picture just ugly.. At this point i don't know what to do .. I don't want to throw it away but it's just so fustrating . Thank you for your help and opinion.

RCA rear projection tv picture bowed to middle. Red Green Blue colors have been seperated on screen.

If I had to guess I would say it's either the DLP chip or the prism. Simply put the lamp lights the DLP chip which directs the light into a prism and then onto the TV screen. The prism or prisms are responsible for aligning the colors correctly. The DLP chip is essentially a million little moving mirrors which direct light

If you're at all comfortable with electronics you might want to open the TV up to take a look. You might get lucky and find something obviously wrong with the TV. Sometimes adhesives melt and parts slip out of place. If your DLP chip is blown there isn't much you can do. You're probably right that this would cost a lot to fix and not be worth it.

Can I clean the color bulbs on my 52'' RCA television?

To clean these lenses is easy with a clean soft cotton cloth in a kindly way. BUT wait a minute: To get access to those lenses is the really hard job. something as you want to see the core of an onion but tobe there you have to take a cover at the time. Trust me: Literally. Step by Step, at least 40 screws. the front screen is the last step, and then you can see those lenses. If the tv is working OK and is the only job needed, ask a technician for a regular cleanning and adjustment you can get surprised about the service cost (NOT REALLY HIGH i mean). make sure he cleans the back mirror also.

I want to connect two dvd players to my tv can you help

yes i can i dont have all the info i need about your tv so ill give you a couple of ways
if your tv is hd
if tv is hd and dvd has hdmi use hdmi if not use component video cables and if your tv is regular use s-video or yellow red and white(composite cables)
ok first connect the cables from the output section of dvd player and connect the other end to the input on your tv. do the same for the other dvd player as well out in the dvd and in into the tv
select the input number on your tv to watch
if your tv doesnt have enough connections on the back you will need to buy a selector(switcher)from any store carrying electronics
if this is case run the cables out from switcher into tv then on the dvd out from dvd and in to selector
if you need more info let me know your wich situation applys to you and i can clarify

Tv wont switch on

check the power cable first. is it ok.
if yes, then open the cover of tv and check the main fuse.
BECAREFUL, do the second step if you have already dealed it before. it has shock chances. high voltages are there, in picture tube even in shutdown conditions..
