Question about USA Spec SCD-VW44 6-Disc CD Changer
My 2000 Jetta has a 6 disc cd changer and it used to work fine. I live in Florida and when it gets hot the cds never play and the deck reads "CD ERROR". Even when its cold outside only the first couple tracks of each CD works and then they start skipping terribly. The CD's are unscratched, so what's the problem?
SOURCE: sony cd changer
IF IT'S A FIAT BRAVA ORIGINAL CAR RADIO WITH A SONY CHANGER IT WILL HAVE AN INTERFACE BEHIND THE RADIO WHICH MAY NEED RESETTING IF YOU DISCONNECT THE INTERFACE POWER FOR 2 MINS AND RECONNECT IT FAILING THAT THE SONY 6 DISC WILL BE JAMMED, WHICH IS COMMON

The front of the disc changer has a sliding panel (usualy the left side slides to the right). After you open it completely either on left or right bottom (inside) you will see a little red or yellow push button. This allows to eject the cassette. No, the car doesn't need to be on, but depending if the wiring is standard or not it doesn't harm if the car is on.
