Swap disk is there any way to play back up games without getting my ps 2 chipped

You won't be able to play any pirated games without installing a mod chip in your ps2 or without having some sort of software/codebreaker running from a USB drive attached to the ps2. Software such as Swap Magic (you can google it) and a flip/slide tool (a plastic card will do) will allow you to do this but it is illegal and I don't recommend it.

You will need the controller to play PS games on the PC.

As well as that you will need a PS emulator and drivers + a patch to make the PS controller work. The only PS controler that will work is a USB PS3 controller.

If you use a standard USB game pad you find that you can't play the games properly.

Usually 80010516 = An error occured during the start operation; PS One game swapped using the eject function and then play pressed quickly, PS One game inserted again.

Well there are only two things that can be done.
1.) Check to make sure the disk is clean, as well as the PS3 vents.
2.) Get a cleaning disk to clean the lens.

If those to do not work you may want to try saving all of your game saves and anything you want to save and do a full system restore (format) IF nothing then, call Sony to have the lens replaced.

If you want you could do this your self. Many online manuals to how to take apart the PS3 and clean the lens.

Hey buddy FORMAT DISC means PAL games or NTSC games format.

There are 2 formats dics in this world for the PS1,PS2,PSP,Wii,Gamecube.etc

They are [NTSC] and [PAL]

[NTSC] is for North America and Japan ONLY. [NTSC] is Original games.

[PAL] is for Asia Only. Which is copied games form the Originals.

I need to know were did you bought PS2 Console from ?

If you bought it in North America or Japan then you have to buy and play Original games from North America Only.

If you bought your PS2 in Asia then you can play copied games.

It is most likely your PS2 is a NTSC, your PS2 cant read any PAL games so it will say format dics.

I have heard you can use the Swap Magic Disk to get it to read out of region games. Check out Swap magic. Also, since your in Australia, you might can get a Mod chip. Mod your 75002.

just one word.... Swap Magic 3.6, you don't have to solder anything!

I have also envountered problems with dogs life, my only reasonable explination is:

 

dogs life is most propably written on a normal CD-R,

and sometimes a chipped PS2 struggles to read CD-R games, you will also find that older PSX games wont work either, hope this is of some help.

If this is a rental copy the most likely answer is simply that the disk is scratched or damaged to the point that your PS2 can't read it. With rental games you also need to double check that store staff placed the correct disk in the box, have a look at the disk an ensure it is not an XBox copy. This message would normally suggest however that the copy you have is not from the same region as you're PS2, if you have a US PS2 it will only play US PS2 games, if you have a UK PS2 it will only play UK PS2 games Etc. you cannot play UK games on a US PS2 and vice versa unless your PS2 is fitted with a 'mod chip' and you will usually require a 'swap disk' as well. **be sure you understand the copyright issues involved if you decide to pursue this** Another possibility is that it is a DVD R, not a legitimate disk, without a 'mod chip' your PS2 will not read games written to DVD R/RW (and doing so is most definitely illegal regardless what those to cheap to pay for there games will tell you about "backups").

pirating is illeagal and i cannot condone it but if you want to bother with it get a mod chip to play back ups checkout easybuy2000.com they sell mod chips for various consoles, or at least they did when the original xbox was still new, anyway if you want to play movies early generation ps2 may be able to play dvd backups, must be the entire disk with the protection copied (an exact imageg of the original dvd) also some usb addons for this are now available, if you have a psx(pre psone playstations with the expansion slot on the rear preferably) can very easily be done, all you need is one real psx game and either a non cdx (mem card and cd style) games shark or pro action replay (i prefer the par) using a lego peice or an m3 screw(standard pc case screw) and a cd case prop the lid open and use the case to hold it half closed, the disk will spin as if it where closed and can be swaped with the backup disk once the system is booted to the gs or par screen, at this point the disk will stop spinning after verifing the disk is legit, then you swap with the back up and start the game with or without cheats, some versions of the psx will double check if it does its not an early enough version., sorry about the length if you need more details email me, [email protected]

hey mate, if its to play copied cds or dvds in the ps1 or 2 u need either to have the playstation chipped or you can get boot cds that you put in first then put the backed up copy in to play. wont work without it.. All the best John
