Question about Panasonic PV-810 VHS Analog Camcorder

1 Answer

Panasonic PV-810 Hi...I just need a recommendation. I have the option of buying either a quasar or the panasonic. I haven't found any reviews. I need to video tape the lessons I give to my students of violin, viola, cello, and piano so they can go home from each lesson with recording for review at home. VHS is the only fast and economical way to do this. I need good field of view and close-up capability because I am filming their hands on the instrument, and it is hard using my DVD camcorder (I can still return it at this time) to keep the bow hand in the field while teaching, and I can't take time to pan the camera. I also need (so I assume) a stereo rather than mono external mic jack. It would be nice to be able to make high quality recordings of performances too, but this is not my primary reason for buying a camcorder. Thanks very much. Such fast service! Well, I can get the quasar for $30, the panasonic asking price is $200. Is it a no-brainer? I know the quasar has an external audio jack, and is mono.

Just for recommendation, try out panasonic. panasonic has way lots of upgrades including repair service. they never run low on chips and stuff. quasar is ok too but never really heard about the tech support...

hope this helps.

You can find a charger at Wal-Mart for about $45 that includes a car charger. I just got mine there after searching Best Buy and Circuit City to no avail! Just make sure to check the back of the case for compatibility with the battery and/or camcorder.

Panasonic camcorder software

I have a similar problem but went to panasonic.com website and found something that hopefully will help a lot of you.
Once the webpage loads, click on the "Support" link near the top middle part of page. You will see three tabs and click on the 3rd tab labeled "Support."
Another page loads where you have "Option 1 enter model # or keyword" so type "PV-DV203" in the box next to "option 1." The results will appear and go down to the last entry titled "Drivers & Downloads: Camcorders." Viola, choose the software you need!!
Now my problem is, I have Windows XP so I don't know if I can still download these myself? I too have lost my CD software and don't bother calling for assistance: they will charge you $14.03 for another CD!!
