If you don't mind taking it apart, carefully unscrew the case and seperate the two halfs (be carefull not to break any of the wires or ribbon connections) , pull off the rubber pad with the buttons, and clean the contacts on the circuit board (you could use alcohol, or I use model railroad track cleaner that you can get at a hobby shop)

The zoom (+) key on my Magellan Explorist 210 GPS has become very sticky, and only works (eventually) if hit sharply. Is it possible (or practicable) for it to be repaired?

Yes it can be fixed but requires the unit to be taken apart. Most likely the rubber keys have lost the contact surface through use over time. Could be dirt on the pad surface...(inside)

Zoom in button works, but won't zoom out

I had the same problem. took unit apart and used a white rubber eraser on the button contacts and also on the rubber back of the button. Cleaning the rubber back of the button seemed to be the most important part because prior cleaning of just circuit board did not seem to have any effect. Button works fine now to my surprise. I suggest cleaning the rubber back of all buttons to avoid repeating process of having to take unit apart twice

I Have a Samsung SCH-r610. I have only had it for a couple days and its a great phone other than this one problem. Every so often, the camera will choose not to work. I will turn the camera on but the...

I had the same problem. I discovered the answer. From my experiences, it seems to happen when I zoom in. Then it stops taking pictures (Capture button does not work) I sent my phone in to get fixed, and they said they replaced something, but i tried zoom again, it stopped working. So i was like wtf.
Anyways, how to solve this problem is to set your camera on the resolution / quality that DOES NOT allow zooming. After that has been completed, turn the phone off. Then back on and it will work.

Zoom in and out buttons not working properly

Unfortunately, this is a problem with the keys and their contacts with the circuit board. I have had to return mine a couple of times to get this repaired. If you're out of warranty, they have a trade-up program which is a better deal than repairing the unit.
