I suggest that you read your motherboard's instruction manual because there are certain limits especially on the capacity of RAM since the motherboard contain chipsets and this will the data to run smoothly from the processor down to your memory. Most likely motherboards especially the old model ones have limits of capacity( most likely up to 512MB or less). If your'e using the old model, then, its most likely that it reaches to its exceeding data limit.
