Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3
I've seen this problem posted before, but I need clarity. I turned off my phone then after turning it back on, the buttons light up, I can make/receive calls, but my display is totally black (I did not drop it.) Sreeki suggested to someone else with this problem "change the display strip." I have no idea what this entails. Can you purchase a display strip? Can you give me more details on where to purchase and how to install? I've called a repair place and they said it would be approx. $75+ to fix. Otherwise, I've been on ebay searching for a new one at a cost of around $80-$100. Any suggestions would be most helpful. Thanks.
Firstly, what is a display strip? the term is a FLEX Cable - these cost about $15-25 for the part, but you need to install it The installation at our shop with the part is $40 + shipping. We can fix and return the phone same day, we have lots of flex cables in stock for the v3.
This is a common problem - if you buy one on ebay for $80-100 you are risking buying a refurbished unit, and they usually have many problems - be careful
