Question about Creative Labs ZEN Vision:M Digital Media Player
I bought a Creative vision m player and whilst I was deleting music (tracks) the player froze and started making an internal beeping noise and now goes to the recovery menu. I've tried the clean up option and the reboot but it doesn't do anything.I don' really want to format and lose all the info,what can you suggest
You won't need to replace the hard drive but you will need to format it to fix the problem. You should format it and then update the firmware. to format the hard drive, hold the on button in the on position and press the reset button, you will then get a menu with Clean, format, load firmware etc. try the clean option first, if that does not fix your problem you will need to formatthem to your player easily.
If you have all of your files kept on your PC you should be able to recopy

Sounds like the drive is bad.
Booting straight to the Recovery menu
I decided to open it up to check out the hard drive to see what kind I would need so I could try replacing it. The data plug that attaches to the hard drive itself was partially unplugged. So, I pushed it back in all the way, put it all back together again, and turned it on just to see if something different might happen. (I had it set in my mind that the hard drive failed and I would need a new one, so I didn't expect anything different to happen) And to my surprise, it worked just like new again.
Before you go off and invest in a new hard drive, I suggest opening it up and make sure that plug is in all the way. Since you'll be opening it up in any case, it wouldn't hurt.
