Same problem, here. I can make and receive calls, but I can't see anything on the main LCD display screen but a blue screen. I've been looking for info on the Web about this kind of problem with cell phone LCD displays. It could be that I allowed my phone to be exposed to the cold (it has been very cold here in Chicago this winter), and the crystals in the LCD froze. My impression is that this damage is permanent and it's best to just purchase a new phone. And then try to keep the phone warm and dry -- don't carry it in an outside pocket or your purse, but an inside pocket close to your body. I don't know what else to do.

I have the same problem after 1 1/2 years.
Just posting to see if this is a common problem with this phone.

Same problem here. But after a month, the screen magically came back to life!! It worked for a couple of weeks and then DIED again! Actually, I figured something out--if I activate the camera, then lines appear all up and down (as if it really WANTS to work...). As soon as the camera is off, only the backlight is on (black screen).

The phone is young--less than 2 yrs old.

Other than the dead screen issue, great phone!

I have the same problem. I've searched the net and have found no solutions. The dude at the Sprint kiosk wants to charge $50 to fix it, but I can just buy a new phone on ebay for much less.

I'm done with Sprint and can't wait to switch providers when my contract is up in June!!

Why does my screen go dark when I am making a call

It should go dark when you put throne up to your face. That keeps it from getting to warm on your face. If you don't want it to go dark, you can turn the auto dim off in settings under display. It will use more battery, but it shouldn't go dim. Then that may be under another setting.

LG Optimus blank screen

This sounds to me like the LCD Backlight has gone bad. You will need to get in contact with your carrier to inquire about warranty service or replacement.

The screen is dark blue instead of showing me

Try a reset of the phone. Take the battery and if there's a chip, remove that too. then let it sit for about 2 minutes. Reinstall everything and reboot. See if that gets everything back to normal...

Backlight not turning on when phone is turned on (Razr)

There is a small cable, inside the phone, near the hinge, that can come loose or unplugged. You should have this checked out by someone who can service it. For them it's a simple procedure of reinserting the cable fully.

Back light

if you mean that only the backlight is not working then this may have happened when you opened the handset you didnt place all correctly ...
just open it again and near by screen there will be a pin or chip which must touch the board to get backlight ... so i think that might not be touching the board ...
so open it and make it touch the board ...
you will get the backlight...

your problem is minor one you can solve it by your self ...
this has happened due so loose conntact inside ....

Backlight display not working

Hey Dannes1956,

The Motorola V3m has a light sensor, which is visible just above the right soft key -- the key above the CLR button. This light sensor turns the backlight on when you press a key in the dark and disables the keypad backlight when you are in a well-lit area.

Your phone sounds like it's operating normally. I believe they disabled the option to activate or deactivate that feature.

Hope this helps,
