Hi! I want to view my photos on my mac computer, but am unable to. When I connect the camera (usb mode) to the computer it doesn't do anything. Do I have to download a driver in order for it to work? Well I also tried that and it did'nt work. Any suggestions on how to get it working? Thanks!
Are you sure the camera is not showing up as an external drive when you access "my computer"? You may want to just buy a media card reader, and download your Memory Stick Pro Duo through that. Cheaper than buying a new camera.

I need more detail about what you are doing though. Are you removing the card and placing it in the computer or are you connecting your camera to the PC using a USB cable? If it is just the photos you have on the card that are messed up, try to copy the photos you can see to the PC. Try to transfer them all to a folder on the PC. You may be able to recover your photos with software. You can download "Recuva" free at this site: http://www.filehippo.com/download_recuva .This software can recover corrupted files. You should have the memory card in a USB adapter connected to the PC for this software to work well. Your card probably needs to be formatted, using the menu on your camera, after you have recovered your photos. That is the most common cause of file errors in cameras. It is good practice to format you memory card fairly often after the photos have been removed. If you have a second card, try taking three or four pictures on it and see if you can access them okay. That would prove there is nothing wrong with your camera.
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then removethe memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader.Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of yourworking computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device oran external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card andcopy the photos to your computer.Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. Youcan copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off yourmemory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing anyprograms.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.
Go to your hard drive and click on Applications/Image Capture and it should allow you to choose which camera you are downloading from. This is assuming that your camera is being recognized by the computer. You can find out by turning camera on while connected and in playback mode and going to your apple icon/about this mac/more info and clicking on hardware/usb and your camera model should show up there if it is connecting properly.
If all else fails, try a card reader for downloading, they are known to solve many headaches!
the usb mode is usually reserved for removing pictures from memory card through camcorder to computer-using camcorder as web cam-new models can stream lower quality video from camcorder to computer-for a dvd cam use a converter box ie pinnacle movie box to convert analog A/V connections to usb and that will stream the correct way-
I've never used a "program" to download my photos, and I've been able to download them on any computer whatsoever. Plug the mini-B into the camera, then plug the USB into your desktop while it is off. Turn the camera on with the switch in View mode. Turn your computer on. Go to Windows explorer or My Computer. Your camera should show up as if it were a data drive with an icon of a camera. Double click that icon and you can view photos at will. Right click any photo to save, or use pull down menus above to save multiple photos at once to other drives.
