Question about Sapphire RADEON X1650, (512 MB) Graphic Card

4 Answers

Help my stupididty.

I got a Radeon x1650, not pro. Too make a long story short I ended up disabling my graphics for my computer which runs XP. Now I can only get to the Setup, Boot Menu, and the Menu from F8 which can start Safe Mode. I have tried Safe mode but it stops on DriverAGP440.sys. My friend told me that I need to reform my computer to get the graphics turned back on, but I was wondering I could turn the graphics card back on some other way that would save me the trouble of reformating my computer all together.

I suppose you disabled the graphics card in the bios ,if so all you need is clear the CMOS that will reset your motherboard to the original settings with the graphics card and dont forget to set the time and date prior to booting your machine.

Last good config is good. If no go, try booting to safe mode, you'll have to let it sit there for a while. That's perfectly normal. One time my friend had to watch his screen for a couple of hours before it finally went to safe mode. So let it sit for about maybe 1/2 hour just to be sure that safe mode isn't broken as well.

go to device manager and click on display adapter then right click on ATI X1650 then run an update. It might be because the driver on your computer is not update with the driver that is not compatible with windows 7. Hope this would help. Thanks.

Radeon x1650 pro graphics card isn't working correctly

Usually that happens only when the card isn't well seated on the slot, or damaged. I guess you've already checked the card is well seated and pushed into the slot. If you had, then the card can be damaged, probably from static or maybe even it has overheated when it worked and something broke, I'm sorry to tell.

The game stopped

Hello matbedui,
If you think the Radeon card is overheating you can check this by simply touching the card after it's been running for sometime. Some Radeon cards (high end) do have this problem. PC cases that do not have sufficient fresh air flow cause problems not just to video cards but to everything inside the case. The design of the HIS Radeon X1650 is less than sufficient. Keeping air flow contained. One way in & one way out. This issue is so important many companies creat sites to help you cool your card.

Your Radeon X1650 Pro IceQ II runs ATI's chips. Installing the latest software is recomended. Download from here:
http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html
Pick your OS. Than pick Radeon. Scroll down to your X1600 series. You can also update through HIS. Their software is twice the size of the ATI software.

Good luck!
