This could be a number of problems, one or many. Some things to consider

1) You may be infected with a virus or a bunch of spyware. Do you have Antivirus and antispyware utilities? I recommend AVG and Spybot.

2) You may have a bad hard drive. Try booting into safe mode and run a dskchk and/or defrag.

3) You may have some faulty memory. Boot into safe mode and right click on "My Computer" click properties and make sure you have the right amount of RAM listed in this area. If not you may need to replace your memory.

When it first trys to start up press f11 and click analyse and recovery or something like that. this should search your laptop and find any errors which wont let it boot up. and then delete or solve them. 9 times out of 10 its a virus.

How to unlock HP laptop when forgot password?

There are so many answers to this question. Here, I will recommend you two common and universal password recovery tools, Ophcrack and Windows Password Genius.
Ophcrack is a free Windows password cracker based on rainbow tables. It is a very efficient implementation of rainbow tables done by the inventors of the method. It comes with a Graphical User Interface and runs on multiple platforms.
Tips: The latest version of Ophcrack still couldn't recover Windows 8 password. If your HP computer is installed with Windows 7, you can consider taking this software into use.
Windows Password Genius is a powerful password recovery tool applied to Windows 8/7/Vista/XP and Windows server 2000/2003/2008/2012. Besides reset HP Windows 8 password, it also could add a new user for Windows 8 logon.

I forgot my Acer 240 travelmate admin password. When i log into safemode it says i need admin to fix all my problems. It wont let me do anything.

You can remove or change the Window's User oradministrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access todownload the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot upthe laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CDwhich contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removalprogram. Click on one of these links todownload HIREN'S BOOTCD :- http://www.hirensbootcd.net/ http://67.20.82.163/

I'm looking for an administrative password for my

If memory serves, as you boot up, press F1 repeatedly and it should offer you the chance to start in Safe Mode. This will allow you rudimentary access to Windows, from which you should be able to adjust administrative settings, such as setting up your name or a new password. You can also try talking with a computer expert at a repair shop, or at a college campus, who can advise you in how to reset passwords. This works with most versions of windows, from 95 to XP, and I think even Vista, though Vista is fussier than an old maid on her wedding night.

Sounds like somone has put What they call a bios/boot user password this is a password thatis used before windows even loads up.

If no one will tell you the password the only other way i know of to reset the password is to open the computer case and remove the CMOS battery which is a CM2032 button batter you cant miss it

Remove that battery and remove power to the case for a few minutes then replace the battery and power back on.

Gateway

the easiest way to do this is to use a boot cd/floppy that will allow you to change the administrator password. Here are a few resources:
http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/
http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_administrator_password.htm

here is the more "official" way by using the recovery console and making a password recovery disk:

hope that helps!
