Need to Clean The lense

If this is a projection TV (DLP or LCD), dust could be on the lens or the mirror assembly. Moving a set can dislodge dust and dirt that's accumulated inside and deposit it onto the lense or mirror. A worst-case scenario would be dust on the LCD chips. Unless you're experienced and/or comfortable opening up the set, I'd recommend contacting a local TV serviceman.

Message says airfow blocked, turns on for about a minute then shuts off

1. Remove the air intake filters on your DLP projector. As explained by InFocus, a manufacturer of LCD and DLP projectors, each DLP model will house the air filters in a different location. However, for most DLP projector products, the filters are accessible by unclipping a simple plastic latch.

2. Wipe the air filters with a small cloth dipped in rubbing alcohol.

3. Blow compressed air into the unit's vents. This will force some internal dust out of the DLP projector, but you may still need to open up the unit for additional dust removal.

4. Unsnap the main cover from your DLP projector. Because DLP projectors need periodic lamp replacement, the main cover is rarely secured with screws or bolts. However, if the DLP projector's cover does not snap off, then you'll want to inspect the unit for possible screws or an alternate release latch.

5. Reach in and remove visible dust globs with a paper towel. Be careful to avoid touching the lens, as fingerprint smudges can diminish DLP projector image quality. If you accidentally smudge the lens while picking out dust blobs, wipe the lens with a dry, lint-free microfiber cloth.

6. Spray compressed air into your DLP projector to remove any lingering dust particles.

7. Close up the projector and reattach the filters.

The three (3) lens covers. I did this the other day and now my picture ROCKS!!! I used a synthetic feather duster for the loose dust, then a clean soft T-shirt for the rest. Make sure to unplug TV first, and let sit for 20 min. before cleaning.

My sony wega kdf-60xbr950 tv does not turn on, it just make clicking sounds. I order a new lamp assembly and it did not fix the problem.

The projector inside the unit can become clogged with dust in its cooling fans which causes load and shut down of the unit. If you feel comfortable take the back off get a really long phillips screwdrivers and remove it, take it apart and clean the dust out.

Lens cleaning

Do not use any solutions. Use a dry, dust free cloth. If there is something on the lens that is sticky, you can use a drop of Alcohol free cleaner and you must put it on the cloth first. Do not let it run.
