I press the #2 button and nothing happens. Some of the other #'s are getting tougher and tougher to register a response but they still work. I'm a drywaller, so I work with a lot of dust around me. I'm assuming that's the reason for this problem. Any suggestions?

From what I read it seems you are trying to register and add a new handset to your system. I am also assuming that the handset is de-registered.
A common problem with registering a handset to this system is Owners Press and Hold the # sign before releasing it. This button is to Press and IMMEDIATELY release. DO NOT HOLD. If this does not solve your problem then
With a charged battery in the handset, the display should read "1.PRESS FIND HS ON BASE 4 SEC and 2.THEN PRESS # ON HANDSET" if it say so, then when you press and "IMMEDIATELY RELEASE " the # sign on the handset the information should change If the screen goes blank when you do so and return to "1.PRESS FIND HS ON BASE 4 SEC and 2.THEN PRESS # ON HANDSET" then you will have a bad battery or your base memory is full.
Replace the battery and try again. If no change then
The best way to go is to clear the system and re-register all the handsets. Begin by removing any handset from the main base cradle. Then
Press and hold /FIND HANDSET on the Main base until the IN USE light turns on and starts to flash. then release it, then without pause Press and Release it again. That will clear the system and de-register all your handsets.
All handsets will show 1.PRESS FIND HS ON BASE 4 SEC and 2.THEN PRESS # ON HANDSET. To re-register follow this instruction

It's true - a quality DVD player from Asda for £59.95. Highly recommended. This 1359 hack worked with my Pacific 1002 purchased March 03. Note. There is no on screen display or any indication on the machine when entering the hack.
Switch machine on and using the remote control only: 1. Press 'open/close' button (the draw should be left open). 2. Press the 'clear' button. 3. Press '1'. 4. Press '3'. 5. Press '6'. 6 Press '9'. 7. Press '0' (zero for multi-region). 8. Press 'open/close' button. End.
1. switch on dvd with remote (leave drawer closed) 2. Press: setup 3. press: 7 (note nothing will happen) 4. press: pause/setup button (again nothing will happen) 5. press: previous/I<< button (nothing will happen) 6. press: Next/>>I button (nothing will happen) 7. press: setup
If nothing at all happens then check the micro switch on the lever/button section. This will probably require taking the dispenser section off. If nothing at all is happening its as though it doesn't register the dispense, if the switch worked then at least something would happen ie the flap, the drive motor etc
It sounds like the base unit has other handsets registered to it. This is why you are getting the message "All Handsets Registered". You will need to reset the base unit in order to register your two handsets.
Hopefully this will help you. Put the phone in an easily accessible spot where you can plug it in and unplug it easily. Unplug the phone, wait a few seconds, and plug it in again. Now, unplug it again, and before you plug it in once more, hold down the Locator button as you plug it in and all lights should flash on. It should emit a long beep, which means it has reset. If not, you will need to unplug it once more and hold down the Locator button again as you plug it in.
Once it beeps, it should allow you to add your handsets. If there is nothing on the handset display, press the off button, menu, then 001. It should then read "Press LOCATOR on base for 3 sec, Then press ok". At this point, you will need to hold down the Locator button until it flashes before hitting okay. The handset will be registered when it reads "Handset 1 Registered".
Hi, I sort of solved this issue. What you cannot confuse here is that when you are doing "Registering" on your existing handset, the base has to be in the registration mode too. To get the base in the registration mode, you have to press <page> (or speaker with sound symbol on the base) more than 5 seconds, then the base is in the "Register Mode". You can then go through the procedure you describe and the handset will beep with Registration number on the screen. This is however a fix only if the Base is still functioning. In my case, sadly, the base was more likely dead (if I press any button on the base, i.e. answer phone etc., there is no response). Hence I went and bought a new cheap GAP compatible BINATONE 1800 Single at Comet (14.99). I then set up the base, put it in the registration mode. Then on the Phillips CD245 handset and gone through the above registration procedure... and Voila! It worked. Now I have a new base that came with 1 handset, then 3 of my CD245 handset are all registered with it. So far, the sound quality is good and I also managed to have kept all the telephone numbers registered with the handset. The BINATONE base came with 12 months manufacturer's guarantee so I am sorted with the base problem for at least a year, which is nice. I hope this is helpful. Best, Ken
