I don't know what model You have so i will give you this link appliance repair video’s
Common faults -
1 The heating elements can fail (meaning open circuit)
2 There are cut-outs (T.O.C's) that might need resetting
3 The thermostats (stats) can trip out or burn out (meaning open circuit)
4 Modern tumble dryers also have sensors and pcb's (Printed circuit boards) these have programs that can fail and circuitry although most should produce an error code showing you were the fault is.
5 Faulty connections and burned wires may also be the fault.

Hi awc9859...
Your heating element is behind the drum where it is attached and case of the dryer
I have also attached a link so you could view the part in its location...double click on the drawing and look for part 15.

Dryer squeaking really loudly when drum turns. Heats though! Model FDE336RES2

its the plastic piece the drum roller rides in behind the drum in the center of the rear wall it wears down the plastic to the metal and starts screeching the drum either pops up and out of it or theres 3 philip head screws in the rear of the drum

Frideraire dryer model fde336res2 won't eat. The

Take a look at #36 in the breakdown I have attached. This part is called a thermal limiter and blows if the heat is restricted in any way to cause the dryer to get too hot. You need to make sure that you don't have a lint buildup around the motor and in your vent hose. The part number for this part is 530320912. Hope this helps.250

Frigidaire FDE336RES2 Dryer marking Clothes

Excessive lint on or near the heater coils will send smoldering lint onto the clothes. Use a flash light and go inside the drum to see the heating coils or lifting the top up who should be able to see the lint build-up on the coils. These need to be cleaned.

Wirlpool dryer heating eliment keeps braking

Sounds like you use dryer sheets. If you do, try cleaning your lint screen with vinegar. Dryer sheets leave a film on the screen that the dryer eventually can't breathe through, the dryer overheats and burns up the elements.
