Question about Webroot Spy Sweeper (spysweeper) for PC

1 Answer

Removing the Webroot/Ask toolbar from Mozilla Firefox page.

Please will you tell me how to remove the toolbar from Firefox?

Working through Firefox/Tools/Add-ons/Unistall has had no effect.

Will I have to unistall and reinstall Webroot's Spy Sweeper but without checking the Ask search toolbar option - or is there a way it can be done without uninstall/reinstall?

I welcome any help/advice you can offer

Re: Removing the Webroot/Ask toolbar from Mozilla Firefox...

If Firefox's tools/options won't remove it, then you'll have to do the uninstall of the Spy Sweeper. The only other way, is if the Ask search bar is showing in your add/remove programs list.

How can I get my past history

Internet History on a Computer
Web browsers keep an internal record of the websites you visit.
This history also called a cache makes future access of websites easier because some of the data is already loaded in your computer.
Internet history is also useful to look through when you cannot remember the name of an important website you visited.
The creators of the big three Web browsers as of the time of publication Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome make viewing your browsing history simple.

Open an Internet Explorer window.
Press "Ctrl" and "H," or click the star to the left of the browser tabs and press "History."

Click on the day, week or month you wish to view. Internet Explorer will keep your Web history until you clear the cache.

Mozilla Firefox

Open Firefox.

Click the "History" drop-down menu.

Select "Show All History."

Locate the day, week or month of the Firefox history you wish to view.
The dialog box will show all history since you last cleared your "History" cache.

Google Chrome

Open a Google Chrome browser.

Click the wrench icon located on the toolbar.

Click "History."
Google Chrome will display all of the websites you have visited within the past 10 weeks. However, websites you viewed in "Incognito" mode or secure pages will not be displayed.

How do I remove yahoo browser from firefox?

Try these steps it will surely help you:

here are two ways to remove the Yahoo! Toolbar for Mozilla Firefox. The easiest way is to use the "Uninstall" menu item:
Click the Pencil menu.
Click "Uninstall".
Enter any feedback you'd like to send to Yahoo! about why you're uninstalling the toolbar.
Click "Uninstall".
Restart your browser.
If that doesn't work, you can also use the Extension Manager in Firefox to remove the Yahoo! Toolbar extension:
Click the "Tools" menu in the Firefox browser.
Click the "Extensions" menu item.
In the Extensions Manager window scroll until you find the Yahoo! Toolbar extension.
Click the Yahoo! Toolbar extension.
Click "Uninstall".
Click "OK" in the "Uninstall Yahoo! Toolbar" window.
Exit Extensions Manager and restart your browser.
Either one of these methods will uninstall Yahoo! Toolbar from your browser. If neither works, your user profile is corrupt. You might need to create a new user profile for your browser.

Cannot delete webroot spyware

You are wanting to uninstall the program I assume. Download this free program. During the installation watch for the page that included the Yahoo Toolbar and uncheck that box so as not to get that worthless toolbar. Now stop Webroot from running, You can open the program and stop it or open Task Manager and stop it there. Open CCleaner and go to the Tools Tab. Now click the Uninstall Tab and look for Webroot Spysweeper. Once you find it click it and then Uninstall on the upper right. Once it is finished open the Issues Tab. This is a perfectly safe mild registry cleaner. Scan for Issues and fix all it finds. Restart your PC and it will be gone. Now open CCleaner and from the help file find out all it can do. You will love this program.

Download program called spybot search and destroy and install it. Update it and then disconect from the internet. Start pc in safe mode (When boot up pc keep pressing F8) Wait for list and start in safe mode without networking. If webroot is running close down and run spybot. Depending on your pc it can take a long time. Make sure you are disconnected from internet while doing this...Hope this helps...Please let me no how you get on...
