Question about Indesit W 123 Front Load Washer

Dial spinning on W123

Hi, I've had my Indesit 123 for nearly four years and I've had nothing but problems with it. After six months of purchase the dial would just spin round so after speaking to Indesit they suggested I clean the front filter. After doing so it worked ok for about six months. It then started playing up with the same problem so again I cleaned the front filter. This time it didn't make a difference. So in order to get my machine to work I have to put it on the quick wash (which is the only cycle that works first time) and then it'll work on any other cycle. Last year for two months or so it started working fine again by itself but then the old problem started again. I have cleaned the front filter many times. The only reason I haven't got an engineer out or replaced the machine is because my kitchen is so small that in order to get to the washing machine my fridge/freezer and oven would need to come out too, therefore having to get a corgi engineer out! Can someone tell me why it works ok on the quick wash at the first time of asking but not on any other cycle? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Dial spinning on W123

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

Indesit w123. motor burnt out?

If your seeing flashes from behind the dial I'm thinking that the timer needs to be changed. Even with the motor shorted out, it still wouldn't cause that effect to happen.

The fabric softener compartment of the detergent drawer is not emptying. The machine is an Indesit W123.

I have had my machine for the past 6 years, I do on average ten loads per week, and it has never failed me. A bit noisy but for the price I could n`t complain. I have just broken the door handle which has cost me a total of #8.50. Not bad for six years hard labour

W123 holding some water and dial keeps spinning around checked the filter all clear

may be a blockage in the sump hose or pump feed hose or the pump itself may be faulty. the dial will click round to tell you there is a fault. to reset turn the dial onto every DOT and turn on for 10 secs then off and onto the next dot it will flash for a couple of seconds to confirm.

Dial keeps rotating

This a common problem with Indesit washers..
It is not a timer but a programme selector switch.
What you need to do is the following.
Switch the m/c on, let the drain pump empty the water, then switch the m/c off.
set the selector switch to one of the black dots on the dial, which is stop/reset.
Then switch washer back on, if the dial still keeps going round and round, then you are going to have to call an engineer, as you have what is called an Anomaly (fault).
Plz leave feedback for this solution.

Indesit w123 shaking

I had the same problem the drum when in spin cycle with the machine almost walked out the door shaking violently as if it was possessed. Check the drum on the inside of machine as most times it has some kind of screw to hold it in place for transporting etc. I did find on the other cycles it worked fine except for the spin cycle, and l have this machine in my caravan near my bed so you can imagine the ferocious noise and how scary it was, and it was a simple error on our behalf. I hope this resolves your problem. Kind Regards Karen.
