Claude Vincent plase start the sytem without the memory, If the sytem beeps so therfore there is no problem in the board and in the processor, in this case youe should replace the memory, however there is no beeps it means that further test in the motehrboard and the processor.

Please notify me for further issue before you rate, Thanks. Hi Melnavz,

Re: No screen, no boot, only the power LED flash orange

In this case you should examine the motherboard and the processor.

verify the Mboard maybe maybe some part oversheat, if non then , Kindly remove the processor, then switch on for a while then shutdown: fix back the procesor and then switch on. still no beeps? try your Processor to other computer system with same socket on mainboard. if the processr work; then your mainboard is damage. u need to replace; if not work. processor is damage and need to replace.

Be sure to test all the pheriperals of your system before you buy a replacement to see if some other parts is no problem.

Like memory, VGA,

If all of the solution is not working its time u to assemble new computer system. i give you all the possible solution, or else tell me the working part i will help you seeking and speicy the replacemnet part.

thank you more power.

Try removing the battery, power supply, hard drive and RAM. Power up and see what happens, you Acer should complain. If it does, the mother board is probably OK. remove the power, fit the RAM and try again. If it now tells you it cannot boot, suspect the hard drive but power down, fit the drive and check it.

Try reseating the RAM module/s. If it still does not boot up then then RAM could be faulty, remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you.

Plug into outlut but screen and power buttons dont light and dvd player doesnt work

Do you get any indication that the laptop is trying to boot - do you have a Power LED that is lit, any other LED indicators that flash at all?Have you tried to connect the laptop to an external monitor and if so, do you get any error or progress messages shown on that display? If the laptop will not power on at all, then try removing the battery then plug back in the power supply and see if it will boot with the battery pack removed.

1st Steve I would remove the hard drive and power up and see if you can enter the bios by tapping either F2 or Del keys. If you can get into the bios then great. Shut down and refit the HDD. Try and enter the bios again and see if the hdd is recognised. If not then the hdd is finished. If it does show then your windows installation is corrupt. Try starting it up with your windows cd in the drive and point the bios startup to see the drive a 1st boot device. If this works then try and perform a repair of windows from the disk.

Good luck

Front right led flashes 3 orange 1 green ,system starts to boot and then goes to a grey screen with curser i upper right corner and just sits there. i can just touch pwr button and computor shuts down

the flashing Orange and Green LED is a terminal battery failure:
The system not booting to the hard drive could be a HDD failure or a corrupt operating system. Boot to the XP CD, Press R at the 1st prompt to access recovery console, then run CHKDSK /R

Laptop Not booting - No Screen

Clean your memory card, or reseat it. Clean the edge connector with soft eraser if reseating doesn't solve it. Do this when battery is disconnected, completely turn off and no other power supply is connected to it. If not maybe ram failed already. This is the first step before going to anything. For additional instructions try to find it in youtube. Post us some update.tnx

Flashing orange and yellow lights

Most likely your battery is dead.
If you are worried about your HD , the best thing to do would be to power it off.
Remove the battery and see if it will boot on the AC adapter.
If it boots , just get a new battery.
If not you have a motherboard issue and need to call Acer if it is under warranty.

Acer Aspire 5315 won't boot, black screen

I had the same symptoms on friends laptop. She had nothing to lose so gave me carte blanc.

Took out battery (to eliminate as problem) plugged in power, and powered up

Power light OK, HD flashed, CD flashed, then black screen. Powered down.

Did the following:

1) took cover off of fan/circuit board (see for details). (4 screws)

2) take out fan (3 screws) and find huge amount of gunk on cooling fins at fan disch. Blew out with compressed air. Also cleaned fan blades.(reboot shows didn't fix.)

3) Repeated step 2, Pulled out memory sticks and cleaned terminals by rubbing with lint free cloth. Replaced memory sticks.

4) System boots normally. Replaced battery. Boots normally.
