I have an ipod classic 160gb and i go under settings/main menu and i have radio checked isnt it supposed too??

Do you mean that you don't have access to the radio because you need the optional radio piece which connects to the bottom of the device if you wish to use the radio. You can either purchase the radio device or go without radio.

How to connect your iPod to a Car Stereo

Many car stereos have more new connections that MP3 playerslike the iPod can be connected and played through the stereo. For new carradio, you only need to connect the device and the MP3 player. If you have anold stereo, connect your iPod or connect a 3.5 mm stereo cable or FMtransmitter. I plugged my ipod 3rd generation 20 gb into my mac to delete some songs so I could add new ones...the screen came up in iTunes and it said it was disconnected improperly even though it was still hooked...

I would force the iPod into disc mode before attempting to connect the iPod to restore it. Below is a step by step on forcing an iPod into disc mode just in case you need the information :)

Putting ipod into disc mode Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Set it to Hold, then turn it off again.) Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears. When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.
Connect the iPod to your computer; the screen on the iPod will change and say "Do not disconnect" If you are having difficulty putting the iPod model into disk mode, set it on a flat surface. Make sure that the finger pressing the Select button is not touching the Click Wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Play/Pause button toward the outside of the Click Wheel and not near the center.
If you are still unable to put your iPod with a Click Wheel into Disk Mode, use one finger from one hand to press the Select button, and one finger from the other hand to press the Play/Pause button.

Nano Ipod stuck in disk mode:

Simply reset the iPod
Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.) Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step. Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.

Ipod [?] mp3/mp4 player - lsd_9301_10

This player sounds thoroughly corrupt - if the 5 R's didn't work, then the only last thing you can try (probably won't work) is to insert he iPod, double-click on my computer, right-click ipod logo, and select Format - Fat32 (warning: this for PC's onlt, not MAC's).

FM Radio

iPods do not come with FM tuners. FM tuners can be bought and added on as an extra feature, but this is a third party device, not an iPod device.

Generally, when you connect the third party FM tuner to the iPod, the iPod will recognize it and you can use the 3rd party FM tuner to change stations.

If you do not have the FM tuner to connect to the iPod, the individual that sold you the iPod did not include the FM tuner to connect to the the iPod. In that case, the Menu will still list the FM tuner, but there is no device to connect to the iPod.
