The repair shop should only need the make/model of the laptop. At most, they will need to see the laptop to know what you need.

Red light dims on Super Nintendo

I do not think on that the red power light could burn out on an SNES console but you never know.
  1. ake sure you are using a licensed AC Adapter (the system's power cord). The name "Nintendo" should be molded into the actual AC Adapter unit. If it says "for use with Nintendo" it may be an unlicensed product Unlicensed products are not fully compatible with Nintendo systems and may not work correctly.
  2. Make sure you are not using any game enhancing devices. Such devices are unlicensed and are not recommended by Nintendo, as they may not let your system function properly.
  3. Firmly plug the AC Adapter into the AC Adapter port on the back of the Control Deck and firmly plug the AC Adapter into the wall outlet.
  4. Make sure your wall outlet works. To check it, try plugging a lamp into the same outlet where your system was plugged in. Turn the lamp on the verify the outlet works. Also, make sure you are not using an outlet that is operated from a wall switch (if you do, make sure the wall switch is in the ON position).
  5. Slide the Power Switch on the Control Deck to the ON position.
  6. Check to ensure that the AC Adapter is not damaged (i.e., the dog chewed the cable). If it is damaged, you may want to purchase a replacement AC Adapter.
What to do if Troubleshooting doesn't help
Due to the age of the system, we no longer offer factory repairs directly from Nintendo. Please click here to find out what options are available for repair or replacement of your product. If you simply need to order parts or accessories, you may want to check out our Online Store. Nintendo's Online Store still carries many parts and accessories for our older products.

What's your problem? the wii wont turn on

    • 1 Disconnect any accessories, such as GameCube controllers or SD cards.
    • 2 Unplug your Nintendo Wii AC adapter from the wall outlet and from the back of your Nintendo Wii. Leave the adapter disconnected for two minutes. Reconnect the adapter to the console and plug the outlet end straight into a wall outlet, not a surge protector.
    • 3 Remove the AC adapter from the wall outlet again. If the Wii has yet to turn on, the problem may lie within your electrical outlet. Plug a lamp, nightlight or something electrical into the outlet the AC adapter was connected to. If the outlet appears to work, then you'll have to test the AC adapter itself.
    • 4 Run your fingers along the AC adapter cable and visually look for any damage, such as frayed wires or a cracked piece of cable. Also look for the model number "RVL-002" and "Wii" on the adapter. If you don't see the "RVL-002" model number and "Wii" on the adapter, then you are using an unlicensed adapter, which can cause instability and power failure. If the adapter has incurred any damage, you will likely have to buy a new adapter.
    • 5 Spray air to clean out the vents on the back of the Nintendo Wii. If your Wii has been sitting for a long time, then dust and dirt may have built up around the vents, preventing the console from cooling itself. If the console cannot cool itself, it overheats and shuts down.
    • 6 Click "Start," "Internet Explorer" and visit the Nintendo repair page (see Resources) to open a repair claim. If you tried the above steps and your Wii has yet to power on, your system probably needs professional repair.

Xbox will not power on at alll??

Hello,
After power failure wii system will not power up their are fuses inside the console one of them my have blown. You need a special screw driver you can get the fuses and screw driver to open the console note that However, before get too worried about that -- let's try a few basic troubleshooting procedures to try and diagnose the issue. Nintendo's guide on this problem is fairly comprehensive and has some good content, so I have included that below. In addition, you will want to check that following common issues before moving forward. 1. Check and make sure your cables are properly plugged in. This may sound silly, but sometimes they can become loosened causing bad power connections. Best to check before you spend much time troubleshooting. 2. Does the power strip or wall outlet that your are plugging the Nintendo Wii into have power? Make sure you can plug in other devices into that same outlet to verify there is not an issue with either the power strip or the wall outlet. 3. Make sure there is adequate ventilation. Although it is covered below, it is best to make sure there is several inches of free space at the back of the Nintendo Wii to provide good air circulation to the Wii so it does not overheat. Here is the Nintendo information on trying to troubleshoot power problems on a Nintendo Wii: 1. Make sure that the word "Wii" and the model number "RVL-002 (USA)" molded into the AC adapter. Unlicensed products are not fully compatible and may not work correctly.
2. Avoid the use of unlicensed products such as memory cards, controllers, and cheat devices. Some of these products are poorly manufactured and may result in damage to your system. If one of these products is attached to your system, remove it and try resetting the AC Adapter (see below).
3. Check all accessories, licensed or not, for phsyical damage. Physical damage, such as frayed wiring or a cracked housing can cause the system to shut down. Remove any damaged products and try resetting the AC Adapter (see below).
4. Make sure the Wii has good ventilation. Avoid operating the Wii while it's on carpeting or inside an enclosed space. If you have the Wii placed in a vertical position, make sure the vent on the bottom is lined up properly with the hole in the plastic stand and no foreign material is obstructing that hole.
5. Check the vents on the back and side of the Wii for dust build up. The system will shut down if it cannot vent properly to prevent overheating. If there is a build-up, remove it using a vaccum cleaner with a soft brush attachment.
6. Make sure that your wall outlet works. To check it, try plugging a lamp into the same outlet where your system was plugged in. Turn the lamp on the verify the outlet works. Also, make sure you are not using an outlet that is operated from a wall switch. If you do, make sure the wall switch is in the ON position.
7. Make sure the AC adapter is attached properly. Firmly plug your AC adapter into the back of the Wii (the port is labeled 12V IN) and into a working wall outlet.
8. Once plugged in, check the power light on the Power button to see if the system is receiving power.
If this fails, try resetting the AC adapter.
1. Unplug/remove all accessories from the system (including game discs, SD Cards, memory cards, Nintendo GameCube controllers, hookup cables, the AC Adapter, and Sensor Bar) from the outlet and Wii.
2. Let the system rest for about 90 seconds. While you're waiting, check to see that controller cords, AC Adapter, and Stereo AV cables/Component Video cables are not frayed or have exposed wires (this can cause the system to shut off); if so, you should replace those parts.
3. After the 90 seconds, Plug the AC Adapter into the system and wall outlet. Check to see if the power light on the Power button comes on.
4. If the system works, plug ONE accessory into your system starting with the Sensor Bar, then turn the system on to see if it still works. Repeat this process with ONE accessory at a time. If your system doesn't work once you put a particular accessory in (Sensor Bar, GameDisc, Nintendo GameCube controller, Memory Card, SD Card, etc.), there may be something defective with that accessory.
5. If the power does not come on, a repair will be necessary. Because it is not possible to determine which item (Wii console or A/C Adapter) needs repair, please call our Consumer Service 6. If the power is still continually shutting off regularly, please call our Consumer Service.

Hope that this will help to solve the problem....

I replace my ac power supply for my dell laptop inspiron 9100 but when connect the power supply to the laptop it keeps on blinking and the laptop does not power on

If you can , try charging the battery in another system and then try to power the laptop up with the charged battery.
If the unit will run on a charged battery, then there's a problem in the charging circuit, and you'll have to check all the components in that area.
If it doesn't, then there's a problem elsewhere on the motherboard, possibly in the DC/DC converter circuit.
Check for shorted SMT MOSFETs and blown or failing capacitors.
If you aren't tech savvy, this is not an undertaking for the inexperienced, and you may have to have the unit sent out for repair.
Most places don't do component level repair and will simply tell you that you need a new motherboard.
If you cannot find a service depot near you, you may want to consider going to www.supertech-IT.com and arrange to have the unit sent in.

best way is to just try out the battery on another laptop, or try another battery on yours. If the laptop is not very old, and I suppose yours isn't more than 2 years old, your battery shouldn't be dead.

I have a compaq presario 700 laptop that is no longer charging.

The notebook battery may have a defect if it will not power on the notebook and if it will not hold a charge. The battery indicator light on the notebook either does not light or always blinks orange. The notebook operates correctly when connected to the AC adapter.
A battery that will not charge may be the result of an AC adapter failure, a system board failure, or a battery failure. Perform the steps below to diagnose the failure.
    Troubleshoot the power supply
To verify that the AC power supply is functioning properly, follow the steps below.

    1.
Plug the AC adapter directly into a functioning wall outlet, and plug connector into the computer. Do not plug into a power strip, surge protector or secondary power source.
    2.
Verify the following operation and take the appropriate action:
    *
That all power cord connections are secure.
If the AC adapter connection to the notebook is loose, the connector may be damaged and require repair. Contact HP service and support for further assistance.
    *
That the power button or power LED is lit when the computer is on.
    *
That an LED on the AC power supply adapter is lit when plugged into an AC wall outlet (not available on all AC power supply adapters).
    *
That the AC power supply adapter is the correct type.
Different notebook models require different AC power supply adapters. You will need to know the Product Number of your notebook to determine the Part Number of the replacement part. Click Start > HP Help & Support to view the product name, product number, and serial number that you'll need to have to speak with HP Customer Service.
View the See Also section for information about locating HP Help & Support in your operating system.

    Troubleshoot the System Board
If you've verified that the AC power functions properly, troubleshoot the PC's system board by following the steps below.

    1.
Remove the battery, and keep the notebook connected to AC power.
    2.
Press and release the Power button to start the computer.
    *
If the notebook PC powers on , then the AC adapter and system board are functioning properly. Go to Troubleshoot the battery .
    *
If the Power LED is off , then the AC power adapter needs to be replaced. Contact HP Service and Support for further assistance.
    *
If the power LED is on , but the notebook PC does not power on, then the notebook PC needs to be repaired. Contact HP Service and Support for further assistance.
    3.
Shut down Windows by selecting Shut Down from the Start Menu.

    Troubleshoot the battery
If you have verified the AC power supply and system board are functioning correctly, troubleshoot the battery by following the steps below.

    1.
Insert the battery into the battery compartment on the bottom of the notebook PC.
    2.
Connect the AC power supply and allow the battery to charge for 15 to 30 minutes.
NOTE: The Battery Charging light should be on while the battery is charging. If it is not on, check the AC power adapter connection to the notebook PC.
    3.
Unplug the AC power adapter cord from the notebook PC.
    4.
Press and release the Power button to start the computer using only the battery as the power source.
    *
If the PC does not power on, then the battery needs to be replaced. Contact HP service and support for further assistance.
    *
If the notebook PC does power on, the battery is functioning properly.
NOTE: If you have purchased a second battery for your notebook PC or you have access to an identical battery, you can also check the battery by inserting the second battery into the PC and performing the Troubleshoot the battery steps again.
