Cannot open pdf file with acrobat 8.0

Hi expert,

I recently upgraded acrobat from 7.0 to free 8.0, and cannot open the old pdf files at all. What did I do wrong? What should I do?

SHeena sorry have been out of town,

Uninstall all your adobe acrocat software.

Reboot computer

goto this website

click th download link on the left

That is for adobe reader 7.0

Tampanative has the right idea, if its not boke dont fix it. Sometimes you are using a program already that suits your needs, If you need that product to do more for you, then think about upgrading.

IF you need anything else sheena let me know

Re: cannot open pdf file with acrobat 8.0

I would suggest using an uninstaller such as "Your Uninstaller" or a equivalent software to uninstall all versions of acrobat, then reboot, re download a fresh copy of V8.0 and try again. Or you could just revert to V7.0 and all should be good.

I hope this helps!

PS: If you weren't having any issues with V7.0? Remember the adage: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Adobe reader error message

In Internet Explorer, when you click on a link to a pdf file,
you get the error message “Adobe Reader could not open ‘filename.fdf’ because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been corrupted.”

This error is due to an issue with Adobe Acrobat viewing PDF files in a web browser.
Try the following:

1. Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools -> Internet Options and on the General tab to erase all temporary files, cookies and history data.
2. Under Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options, on the General tab click on Settings and make sure you select the option “Automatically” for checking for newer versions of the stored pages. Then attempt to open the PDC file again.
3. If solutions 1 and 2 do not work then uninstall Adobe Acrobat, then reinstall it again.
It seems that Acrobat 6 is more prone to this error so upgrading to Acrobat 7 may solve the problem.

All d best.

Any furthur help feel free to ask me again i will be more than happy to assist you.
