Doing a reset does not unlock a Garmin GPS. You need to take it back to your security location which you set when you first got it. It will then automatically unlock and you can set a new PIN. There is no master password, or password override.
in order to unlock your unit if you forgot your password, you must return with-in 50 meters of the SECURITY LOCATION.......that could of been yoyur home or office...... once there it will then unlock automatically then you would have to reset your password
if you dont know where that is your must return your unit to Garmin to unlock it for you with THE PROPER RECEIPT OF OWNERSHIP
All garmins have a security feature in case it was stolen or lost
If you forgot your password, Garmin lock has an option to unlock it by going to the location the password was set. This is called security location, usually your home or the drive way.
To reset the GPS, put your thumbnail under the Garmin logo and pull off the faceplate. Press the reset button.
If you still need PIN, you can either drive to secure location to unlock the GPS and if you don't know it, the only other way to unlock it is to contact Garmin.
When you went through the password process you also had to set up your secret place in case you forgot your password. Go to your secret place and your Garmin will unlock and you can reset your password.
Hope this helps
