Question about Nu Mark AXIS 9
I turned both CD players on, 5 minutes later, both CDplayers made a pop noise, then smoked from the back, and then all power just stopped goin in to the devices,
wont turn on at all now
what is the problem, and how much will it cost to fix?
The 10,000 microfarad capacitor in the power supply is shot. Have someone that knows what they're doing replace it. They should be good at soldering AND know how to tell polarity. If you get it backwards it'll be spectacular, but won't be good! ;p
here's the link.
Capacitor (C901) 16V 10,000 Micro Farade | EC10916 $2.00 USD

That sounds bad. You will need to get someone to have a look at the decks for you. The fact that both blew sounds like they got a major power surge or are on the wrong mains voltage. check to see that they are setup for operation in your country. Check your mixer for damage also.
Some suppliers of electricity are bound by regulations to keep supply within 5%. When you have a spike that "blows" stuff, they generally know about it and there may be some recourse with the electricity provider. Worth checking out.
