Transfer pictures from camera memory to photo card

I took some pictures on the camera's memory and now I want to transfer them to my iphoto program...wondering if there's a way to transfer them to the memory card and put that into my card reader... so, can you take a photo stored in the camera's memory and put it onto the card with the card in the camera and nothing plugged into it, just as a function of the camera?

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to transfer pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo management program.

Pictures on my memory card will not go directly to my iphoto when inserted. Why??

Your iphoto program maybe corrupted, try reinstalling the iphoto program.OR
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then removethe memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader.Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of yourworking computer. Your computer will see this as an USB mass storage device oran external storage device, you can then open the folder on the memory card andcopy the photos to your computer.
