Could be blocked up in the shute. remove all ice from the freezer and check that the ice shute (leading to the dispenser outlet) is clear. Let the freezer create a batch of ice (normally about 4 to 5 hours) and see if it dispenses then. If not , it could be a failed auger motor. That is the main corkscrew looking drive which pulls the ice into the shute. Check the icemaker in the freezer, and look for a button on the side or underneath the icemaker. Most manufacturers put one there to test the icemaker. Press the icemaker ice dispenser button and see or hear if the auger is turning.

You will need to replace the module. It is accessed by removing the white, plastic cover from the front of the icemaker. Once off, remove the three brass colored screws and disconnect the wire arm on the RH side of the icemaker. The new module will install in reverse order. The module is available at the link below.

Module $48.50

Kenmore fridge106.56546400, icemaker shute leaks

Most likely the chute is not closing all the way. Warm air enters and melts some ice and drips. You'll eventually get a frost buildup there if not already. Order a ice door kit. Get a flashlight and look at the chute door real good for a partial closure for verification.

I have a Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator and I can't get the icemaker front panel off to install a new icemaker kit in order to fix the frosting around the icemaker chute. How does the icemaker front...

according to the model number that you listed in the heading it just shows a cover door that slides out and down and is attached to the top freezer shelf. is this correct? If so pull one side of the slide and it will release the cover.  Now if your talking about removing the dispenser cover on the fron of the freezer door there are 2 slots on the bottom of the cover that you insert a flat tip screw driver and carefully pry the cover off. hope that helps Peyton

Icemaker stopped making ice

remove the front plastic cover on the icemaker and you will see a bunch of little holes make a jumper wire out #10 or 12 house wire strip about 1/4 inch off the ends an insert in the holes marked t&h this will start a test cycle make sure you hold the plastic insulation so you don't get bit if the ice maker starts cycling remove the wire and watch for it to stop listen for the icemaker valve to open if the ice maker finishes and the valve didn’t fill replace the water valves if the icemaker doesnt cycle and you may have to kind of twist the jumper back and forth to get it to make contact depending on the gauge you used then replace the ice maker motor module if you hear the valve open and the ice maker doesnt fill check for a frozen ice fill tube that should do it

GE Icemaker flap door won't open causes ice jam in chute

There is an electric solenoid that opens the door. If you look up inside the dispenser you can see the solenoid. Either the solenoid is bad or the dispenser module that puts power to it is out. You will need to remove dispenser front and check for voltage to solenoid. If you have power from module, replace solenoid, if no power, replace both parts. It is common for solenoid to short out and damage the module so that both must be replaced. If solenoid is shorted and you replace module, new part will fry.

Ice shute does not seal

There is a plastic clip that has broken off of the icemaker chute door spring latch on the refrigerator door. This is a common problem and a replacement kit is available from whirlpool to correct this problem. If you contact whirlpool directly they will help you out with a part number for the kit.

Frost on Ice Maker shute

Dtot, does the flap shut all the way? Sounds like you are drawing moisture from the chute. The flapper should seat so that no air is being drawn in. I have seen a number of these Whirlpools where the pin and spring retainer has broken off from the dispensor housing causing this problem. They use to replace the whole freezer door because the dispensor housing is not a servicable part. They have now come out with a kit to address this problem. This is not a fun job for a first timer. You may want to contact Whirlpool and inquire about the aforementioned. If this is your case, there is a good chance they will cover it. back.
