Question about Computers & Internet
May it find you in the best of spirits!
I had bought Toshiba 160 GB MODEL NO. HDDR160E02Xexternal hard drive 1/3/2008.
I ignored when prompted to put password when I plugged in the
drive for first time. Then, I transferred some data to the drive.
Now, I feel that data must be protected by password.
Kindly guide me and let me know the procedure to protect the
already stored data and the data that shall be stored in the
external hard drive in future by a password. Thanks.
With good wishes,
M D Giri
Just browse to the drive and right click on the folder (best to use folders) and sharing and security . make this folder private.
thats the easiest.

If you did not input a password when prompted, just hit the Enter key and that should work.

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
