Dell 3300 adapter

Let me recap, just one more time.
Your wireless router,
You updated the firmware(most have out dated firmware from sitting in the warehouse)
Broadcast SSID
Using WPA-PSK(TKIP) Security
Mixed mode(b and g, n if available) This is needed for wireless devices to work properly.
Channels 1, 6 or 11. These channels are the channels most wireless devices work on the best(I use channel 11)
Now for the printer. Download and run this patch to completely remove the printer from your computer.

The patch is password protected. The way around the password protected zip file is to open the zip file with Winrar or 7zip(.exe file)

Restart your computer.

After router is done, now setup your wireless print server/printer.
3300 Utility
3300 Firmware
Attach the 3300 to your computer using the USB Cable and insert the 3300 disk. Follow the instructions. It should ask you for the network ID, type of security and password.
Download the proper drivers.
XP Drivers
Vista 32-bit Drivers
Install the drivers, choose network, choose I'm using a wireless print server(if you do not see this, then choose add printer and you should see it then) and follow the instructions.

Thanks for contacting Fixya

Hi, I connected the printer server GPSU01U to a dlink 524

When you connect the print server to the router, does the lights lit? have you tried to reset the print server (reset button is on the side of the print server). press the reset button for 10 seconds, after 10seconds, while still holding the reset button power cycle the print server (unplug then replug the power cable) then release the reset button. Try to find the print server using the PS admin.

Using D-link dp-300 Printer Canon ImargeClass MF4350d (Multifunction printer) Problem. I can not use scanner fanction. (no problem for printer) Without printer server, I able to use the scanner.

The problem you are having is pretty standard, the IP based printing works for most printers but the scanner require direct(or well faked, direct) connectivity with a USB port which most routers do not provide.

Several companies including Startech and Io Gear make Virtual USB devices which would resolve the issue.

How they work differs as instead of creating an IP printer, the usb device installs on an ip and then a driver you install on your PC(s) connect to the unit over the router and sets up a virtual USB port on your machine so you can re-install the printer as a local printer attached to what it thinks is a local USB port.

Doing this will allow you all functionality the printer offers but will slow down printing and scanning a bit

Hope this Helps,

Jetdirect 170x External Print Server Not Visible over network

it is possiable that a firewall is in the way, but more likely is that you are on a different logical network or subnet.
the HP software relies upon doing a broadcast to find HP printers, broadcast traffice is not normally permitted between subnets, this is why the HP software does not find your printer.

basically you need to creat a new port on the computer in question and then associate a printer to that port.

do so by doing the following on XP pro.
get to the printers folder then click from the menu "File"
click "server properties"

click add port and then double click on the (Standard TCP/IP Port) a new wizard opens click next
in the top box enter the ip address of your printer. and click next. leave the device type as "Standard and as generic network card) click next then finish. then close.

now you have to link your printer to your new port.
install a new printer
making sure that you select local printer... but removing the tick "Automatically detect......" then click next and select LPT port 1.
click next choose HP on the left colum and HP lasterJet III from the right colum. click next give the printer a name of your choosing. and if nesseary choose if you want it to be a default printer or not.
click next and leave do not share selected.
click next
on the "do you want to print a test page " select "No"
then finish.

once done

right click you new printer select properties
then select the "Ports" tab
scroll down the list until you see new Standard TCP/IP port listed, select your port. then click apply

lastly click the advanced tab
using the driver part of this screen you are able to select the correct driver from the dropdown list if it is not avaliable click the new driver button and follow the prompts.

click OK when done.

hope this helps.

First make sure the PS is hard wired to the router and you have all the wireless settings handy (including the SSID and Wireless Encryption). Then follow the step by step instructions in the file given below: Also, the printer with the ethernet cable seems to be a network printer. So, you need to do much to configure it, if its already configured; just connect it to one of the ethernet ports of the PS. Please revert back with any other queries.

HawkinG Wireless 1-port USB Print Server doesn't recognize imageclass MF6530 So, I've been slowly building my company's network over the past week (It was very very poor.) So now I'm installing some devices to utilize the networks capabilities. So we have a printer that's a Canon imageclass MF6530. Freaking nice right? Well we don't even utilize 9/10ths of it's capabilities because all we use it for is a hard copier... Lame. So I got the cheapest network printer server that I could find. My mistake I suppose. I needed it to be wireless, and well this is what I got for a cheap price non the less (35 bucks, i knew that was a mistake but still bought it. lol) So I did all the neccessary steps listed in the manual (why a wireless print server doesn't have all the software needed to configure it build into the actual server, I do not know.) So after I found out that there is no way to config the printer server via network connection with out te use of te softwarer, i go ahead and install everything. Setup runs while the printer is connected, the PS (print server) is hooked to my router via long *** cord (wireless apparently can't be setup with out having it hooked to some sort of network device to communicate with it although it did state tat it was possible, yet I never was able to connect it.) Yay, I have a print server. Yet the program was faulty, froze, and I had to restart it and it didn't correctly setup the unit through the autostart install wizard. SOO I manually went into the programs and used there config utility, that didn't work. Went online, downloaded all the updated software (yet I didn't check the version difference between sfotware so I don't even know if it was an upgrade) but sure enough, everything started to work. I could access my print server efficiently, and configure it to the settings I wanted. NOW, the problem. It simply doesn't show my printer hooked to the USB device. So my trouble shoots: 1. Checked the printer, it's on, USB enabled, setup to be connected. 2. Checked all the cable connections (okay) 3. Checked the printer on a laptop to insure that the usb connection works properly, printer was recognized and installed. (I did a direct connection from printer to laptop via USB - no print server) 4. So then I added my dell printer to the mix (just purchased it 10 days ago), and wala it can see my DELL printer on my print server and allows me to install drivers. Cool, but it's already a wireless enabled printer, sooo useless for me. So that's were I am at. Anyone know of anything that I could try? I mean, it doesn't really allow me much ability to configure the unit or make any modifications to it enough to where I could get it to recognize my printer.
