Hi im on virgin wireless and i want to know how i can connect it up to play live everything else is fine it just comes up saying internet connection failed

You were just lucky if you played xbox on hotspot because you usually always have to be connected to direct internet to play on xbox. Maybe you were connected and didn't know it. I've tried it on hotspot, it never works, it always says need internet connection.

What your having is an internet issue, you must contact your internet service provider first. Xbox console connect with different connection as Static IP service (House Line) or Dynamic IP Service (Cable). Normally the person that installes your internet should help you configure all the equipment as they are trained for that service.
Basically i know its a rip off but if u wanna use wireless with the xbox 360 u need to buy the official xbox 360 wireless router which is about £60.There is another way if u dont use wireless u can connect the xbox 360 to a router or the phone line then go to your windows firewall and set it up manually.Hope this can help you .Joe stevenson
Hi fozzy211 - Please don't rate this 'til were finished. You've got two things going on. You said it's telling you to check the cables and then you say it's saying the router isn't from Verizon. Is it both? Are the cables hooked up correctly to your knowledge? We can fool Verizon's system. Let me know if you actually have two problems. For now I would only hook up one pc via wired until it's working. I'll await your response. Thanks.
i phoned microsoft about the problem, cuz i've been getting the same thing on other games too and at one point not even connecting on the dash, but when i test the connectivity everything is fine. the person who i spoke to at microsoft said "its a problem with x-box live, and they are working 24/7 to try to resolve this. it is a problem which started x-mas 07" looks like were all going to have to grin and bare it for a while because by the sounds of it they aint got a clue whats up with it.
