I've had this problem repeatedly, and Maytag has replaced the console twice already, and it's happening again. Ours is 2 years old, and the problem started after 1 year. Just reported the third instance of this happening - was told "sorry", but I asked for a manager/supervisor. At that level, Maytag offered its "Repurchase Incentive Program", which is 15% off the final price (including any sale prices) of a new stove under the Whirlpool family, which now includes Jenn-Air, Maytag, etc. Apparently if a repair person deems it "unrepairable", it may be considered for replacement, at a pro-rated value (taking into account depreciation), which may just result in a check being cut. We'll see how it works out.

Replaced the ERC but that's not the problem at $200.00. Talked to jenn-air after the costmer service did not no the answer .Told them to connect me to there engineering staff .They said they could not do it. Then all of a sudden they told me it was touch control pad short. F1-8 fault code( shorted touch control.) Jenn-air has this problem right along and kept selling these products and did nothing about it. They said they knew nothing about it. I said try looking it your order supply for touch control pads. DON'T BUY JENN-AIR. BUY A RANGE WITH KNOBS.

On some model Jenn-Air ranges F8 indicates a failure of the Electronic Range Control (ERC). On some newer model Jenn-Air ranges F8 indicates a "shorted meat probe alarm" which could indicate a problem with the probe sensing jack and/or sensor. If you do not have a meat probe, then I guess this can be ruled out. My experience tells me, however, that this is a problem with your ERC. Just to be sure, all major appliances come with tech sheets. These are usually placed in a convenient area inside the appliance so repairmen will have a reference to work with. On ranges, this tech sheet is usually located inside the electronics console, or on the back of the range somewhere. It should have a list of fault codes and possible diagnostics procedures as well. If you wish to replace the ERC, the part number is 1035401 and costs approx. $160. I hope this information is helpful. Post back if you have any further questions/comments/concerns.

PS I could not find any information about a recall on this product by Jenn-Air. In your owner's manual there should be contact information for consumer affairs or customer service. They may be able to provide you with more definitive information on this.

F8 Analog / Digital problem Replace clock (ERC).
Not hard to replace, just make sure you unplug the appliance first. I can not tell you about a recall, try contacting customer service with that question.

Jgs8750ads I replaced the touch board and short sensor and still receive F3-1 code

Typically this code is cause by a bad thermal sensor or thermal fuse. Might want to check wiring for continuity, resistance, open shorts leading from the sensor to the control panel using a multimeter.

Error Code F1 displays once in a while. What does it mean?

How to test many brands of Ranges that are flashing a F1 fault code: You have either a bad ERC (clock) or a bad touch pad.
1. Disconnect power to stove
2. Gain access to the back of the clock (electronic range control or ERC).
3. Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire approx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide.
4. Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on.
5. Turn power back on to stove.
6. Watch for the F1 and listen for the beep.
7. If you get the F1 and beep, replace the ERC.
8. If after approx. 30 minutes you do NOT get the F1 and hear the beep, replace the touch pad.

* ERC - Electronic Range Control

NOTE: Some models incorporate the touch pad and the clock as one part.

Hope helps.

Beeping with f7 display

HI this is a touch pad or key pad issue. In most models, the touch or key pad are integrated. In this case, you will need to replace the entire control board or EOC(clock).

Now, if the touch or key pad is separate from the main control board, and linked, via linking ribbon, i would advise to use the procedure below to isolate the problem area.

Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.

Control beeps continuously. Display shows F1. Started when oven had not been used for a long time. Pushing oven and timer off buttons resulted in 10 seconds of silence before beeping resumed. Same for...

Usually, This means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code cannot be canceled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both.
