Re: Troubleshooting RIM BlackBerry 7290 bluetooth will...

Many ring tones are "locked" by copywrite by the carrier. Also, transferring from device to device may only work if the same version of bluetooth is on both devices.

I have connected cells to blackberries before... usually hit or miss.... most likely, you will have to first transfer the file to your computer, then to the other device.

Sorry I can't be more helpful. :)

Support for Bluetooth headsets is the real innovation here. Though BlackBerry devices have packed in phones for years, holding them up to your head has always felt and looked awkward. Because the 7290 paired easily with our Logitech and Nokia Bluetooth headsets, that's now much less of an issue. Unfortunately, the 7290 doesn't support voice dialing, so you'll still have to pull out your BlackBerry in order to dial. There's also no support for the Bluetooth dial-up modem profile and no Bluetooth file transfer. Phone calls are clear, although there's no speakerphone.
The 7920 does not have a speakerphone.

I have a blackberry 7290 and ican't use the bluetuth

The blutooth on blackberries is mostly for connecting a headset. Certain models allow you to transfer files to people using blutooth. But only you connecting to the other party not them connecting to you.

Bluetooth (service not supported) HELP!

your blackberry might need an upgrade in software you bought on ebay

take it to your local retail outlet or phone provider and have them do an upgrade in the system they have

#2 i would never buy these kinda phones from ebay one of 2 things they could be stolen or just be a piece of ........
unlocked phones are usually clones once you put your service on it they have the code to copy your info and make your phone account become out of wack with out ragious charges
they got you good
only by these kind of phones from certified dealers they have the quality and guarenteed no cloning

I Need Help

BlackBerry 7290 won't play MP3 Tones or accept any other stuff via Bluetooth rather than an A2DP profile link (means BlackBerry's 7290 Bluetooth is handsfree only)

Blue tooth software revisions keep occuring. The previous generation did not permit the transfer of MP3.... are your ring tone MP3's?

Also, make sure the the ring tone is not "copy protected"....
