Perhaps the lens is dirty or locked up? try a cleaning disc, and if it doesnt work a tap sometimes will free the lens, they sometimes get locked off focus by the magnets that control it. If these dont work Id suggest servicing it.

CD/DVD Drive is not recognized on the computer

Try reseating the DVD drive.
Then go to My Computer to see if the DVD drive is shown.
If not then the DVD drive is faulty and needs to be replaced.

I have bought new computer window vista when I try to load Photosuite 3 nothing happens is it conpatable

What do you mean by "nothing happens"?
Do you have a DVD with the software on it? Did you put the DVD in the drive and nothing happened? Is your DVD drive set to AutoPlay when a disk is put in it? If not, you can open the drive (open My Computer, then select the DVD drive, and find the setup.exe file, and double-click it).
If this is not the issue, perhaps you have an older version of the software. Usually you can still install older versions, and use the Update functionality to upgrade to a newer version online. If it's too old (like a Win 98 version or something), then you will just have to buy a new version.

I can't open my dvd-drive. I've tried to pull a stick into the little whole at the drive but nothing happened. I've also tried to press computer --> dvd-drive right-click and press eject, but...

If you have put a pin in the little hole next to the open button, and tried to right click your drive and eject that way, the motor may have burned out. Its not uncommon for this to happen. Overuse or abuse can cause this. You can get this fixed a few ways. Take it into a repair shop and have them replace the motor. Or get an external DVD/CD drive. On average they go for around $60 for a decent one.

I put the cd rom into the drive and nothing happens. I go to click on the icon under my computer and it causes the window not to respond.

Confirm that the CD drive is not a CD-ROM dive and the CD you are trying to open is is not a DVD. CD-ROM drive wil not open a DVD ROM and in some cases will cause the system to stop responding if youtry to run it.

When I put in my DVD nothing happens. I'm not

Your computer may not have a DVD drive, it's only a CD drive.
