Replacing the lamp in the microwave of a Kitchenaid... (by 3 users)
I am trying to find out how to replace the lamp in the microwave on this built in oven/microwave. Nothing in the users manual mentions the bulb in the microwave. (They mention the bulb in the oven and that's a breeze) I checked the Kitchenaid site and found the parts manual and see that it's a halogen bulb and it's in the $30 range. Just need to know how to replace it. Any ideas?

I had the same problem. You have to take the covers off the front of the oven and get to the space below the controls and and above the roof of the microwave. The microwave will them slide out a little and give access to the light bulb connection. Hope this helps. My new problem with this microwave oven is the metal spring bars in the door. They snapped and I replaced them but they do not have the same tension to support the door when open. I have tried to find a detail of how the parts fit together and can not find. Anyone with suggestions?
I hope this help
