Xerox C2424 error code 19,003.48 and 07,010.43

Hi guys,
Can someone please guide me on how to open this printer and the position of the printhead. Also how can I lubricate the slider and with which lubricant? I am a complete novice in this field.

Thanks, but please where is the printhead situated in the printer? The printer wrote "printhead unpacked" before flashing these codes

  • tyndel Jan 31, 2008

Thanks, but what I am using is xerox c2424 solid ink and not hp or canon

  • tyndel Jan 31, 2008

Thanks for your help but what I actually mean is where the printhead is located inside the printer i.e the position where it is situated and how to access it. This printer does not use catridges. It uses solid ink. If it is catridges I wouldn't be so confused.

    FOR lubrication read this:

This carriage/bar assembly should be assembled perfectly.

clean and dry; the carriage has brass oilite bearings and any addition of lubricant will dry out and cause jamming because of dust settlement. The bar/bearings do wear eventually leading to a gentle clicking noise whenever the carriage reverses direction but this is not terminal and does not seem to have a major effect on print quality (especially in the Normal or Best modes where printing is unidirectional). Dis-assembly will allow complete cleaning of the bar and the bearings.
If someone has mistakenly oiled the bar then the oilite bearings will have to be very carefully cleaned as oily dust will get to the inside edges of the bearings as well as the visible outside parts; - difficult to clean up and if not done perfectly the remaining oily dust will reapply itself to the bar and the jamming problem eventually re-occurs. It might be an idea to buff out any scratches/marks on the bar with a buffing wheel - but I have not tried this.
The carriage also has a rearside oilite slider bearing which should also run clean and dry - use alcahol on swabsticks to clean off all old oil and paperdust residues.
Try to use minimum dust paper - it will prolong the life of the slider bars and also the rubber rollers of the paper transport system. If your printer lives in a dusty environment - keep it covered when not in use!

Xerox c2424 error codes

Drum disconnect. The drum heater is not drawing the expected
power from the supply.
AC power supplied by power sources such as uninterruptible power supplies (UPS's) or DC-to-AC inverter systems, may not supply enough current to properly power up the printer. In these cases, the printer may report printhead jet-stack or reservoir
heater disconnect, drum heater, or preheater errors (37,002.47 thru 37,012.48).If you do not hav a UPS connected then probably it is the drum heater problem

Xerox c2424 37,002,47:280890

The 37,002 error code is for a defective heater in the printhead 650-4354-00. There is no reset or workaround for this error.
Unfortunately, the part is fairly expensive, but the C2424 is such a workhorse, you may want to repair it.

C2424: error code 19,993.48:88868

This error is a Printhead error, but in this case is usually more probable to be caused by the Electronics Module.
The Printhead part number is 650-4354-00
The Electronics Module is 119-6427-03
I suspect the actual error code was 19,003.48

The process motor has stalled while moving the Printhead.

You need to check the wiring to the printhead for proper routing.
Then, remove the printhead and check for ink spills in the tilt and drive gears.
Then, check the gears in the Process gear drive train are correctly aligned, in the coerrect home position, and not damaged.

You might need to replace the Process gearbox.

the error code is "printhead stuck in the tilted position or not tilting properly over the CAM, due to problems with the process motor gearbox" the 6375 is your print count, are you under warranty still by xerox?
