On some cd players, when they are closed ,they also push a button or little springloaded switch to let it know its loaded. Now eventually these doors wear down and dont quite push the activation switch all the way
yours is inside the box and can sometimes be temporirily jammed down with blue tack or tape
Ive had the same problem and in the end its time to buy another system my friend

The door works if you tilt the player on its back, but of course then you cant play a cd. The problem with the door is that it has too much play in it and it needs some support to keep it from catching at the bottom as it closes. Putting a cd in it just weighs the tray down so gravity seems to be the problem here.

2008 cadillac 6 disk dolby dvd/cd sound system will not play or eject disk

Alien is right, pull the Radio Fuse, then put it back in and eject the CD/DVD. Happens to me sometimes with burned DVDs, seems like the player is picky on the CD/DVD media. Rebooting the device (by pulling the fuse) is the only way to eject it.

The CD player/changer in my car is not loading or ejecting the CD's. When I push the load or eject button, it makes a grinding sound. It was playing fine yesterday but since I left a CD inside the CD...

I just acquired the same problem. I tried to put a new CD in and it wouldn't take it. I ended up pushing it in when I was trying to get it back out and now it won't play the CD, or eject it. I think it could be stuck between tracks, but they want $188 to look at it and fix it even if it is a simple fix. I am looking for suggestions also, Diane

Jensen vm9311ts problem

The player thiinks the CD is still in the player. you have a shorted or open sensor. Usually thee players have 3 phto sensors to tell the controller that a Disc is inserted , or ejected or present. Sometimes a wire or piece of lint covers a sensor and makes the controller think the CD is still there. Get you a can of Air from Radio Shack and blow out the DVD drive You might get lucky and this do the job.
