It is likely that the power supplys have blown diodes or capacators
and there is too much ac in the signal ,
or the power supplys you have don't have enough wattage to power the units cleanly. did they ever work.
instead of using a power supply with 300ma or so use one that has 500ma or better 1 amp even.

Hello! I'm having the same problem with my Boss CS-3. Was it the power supply that was the problem?

Hi, i need to know the exact power plug so i dont have to run the pedal on battery power.i know i need a 9v power supply but i dont know the size of the jack that goes into pedal..many thanxs..

Unfortunately, battery jacks and plugs similar to the type you're describing do not have any real standardization - unlike the outlets and plugs in homes and businesses have.

You best bet is to either bring the plug / jack to a shop to match it or contact the instrument's manufacturer to obtain the connector specs for physical dimensions

Be sure to obtain the power requirements in either watts or amps so that you can obtain a power source capable of delivering what you need without overheating during longer periods of use. Adding 25% to 50% more amps or watts to the minimum required should provide years of trouble free service. Example: 9VDC at 50 watts should be supplied by a 9VDC 62 watts or even 75 watts; or in the case of a rating of 9VDC at 6 amps should be supplied by a 9VDC at 7.5 amps or even 9 amps. With DC powered devices, make sure you observe proper polarity! Good luck!

Why are there only two dots when I power on?

1. Make sure that you have the correct power supply plugged in.
2. If you are using the BOSS power supply, it could be defective. Measure the voltage it is producing and make sure it is correct.
3. If the voltage is correct, then the problem is inside the unit, and it will need servicing.

BOSS TU-3 Tuner will not work with power supply or battery

It was probably connected backwards in polarity from a power supply which burnt a diode. These things have backwards polarity of 9v adapters which means positive on the outside of the plug and ground in the middle, unless you have the original boss power supply. If you have a generic power supply, cut the plug off and switch the wires and try it.

Hello, My Boss CS-3 Compression Sustainer pedal is having issues. I bought it around 6 months ago. When I first discovered the problem, it didn't work at all when turned on. It just made this feedback...

Make sure you use Alkaline battery and NOT rechargeable type... the rechargeable battery will NOT work in the pedals (their voltage is lower even though they are labeled as 9 volt replacement).

Other internal problems can be due to cracked circuit board or broken solder joints. These are very common as people step on the cables when plugged in. This breaks the connection inside. A fuzzy sound often occurs when one of the contacts is marginal due to bad solder at the jack terminals.

I have a Fujitsu inverter split system,(ASTA18LCC) which the power was removed for a while. Now when you start it up on any mode the red operation light is on briefely, then the green timer light flashers...

To work out what the error code ispress the orange start/stop button on the remote controller so unit operationis stopped.
Then press and hold "energy save" and "zone control" buttonsimultaneously for at least five seconds, the error code will be along thelines of En:nn where the "En:" is the error code and the":nn" indicates the indoor unit address if there are multiple indoorunits connected to the one controller. If the upper vertical bar on the capitalE is missing so it looks maybe like a 2 or something don't worry for somereasons they just do that
Some common error codes are:
E0 Communication error between indoor unit and wired remote control, check ifthere is 12VDC between terminal 1 + 3 at remote control and 8-9VDC pulsatingbetween terminal 2 + 3. If DC volts out of Indoor pcb is below about 11.6VDC itwill cause this error, the problem is normally dry capacitors in the 12 VDCpower supply section. This model has two power supply sections on indoor pcb.
E1 Communication error between indoor unit and outdoor unit,
EF Discharge temperature abnormal
Is it helpful?

Heading out the door to work, I accidentally grabbed the wrong power supply. My Coby CD-TV153, which requires a positive center, 13VDC power supply was plugged in to a NEGATIVE CENTER, 9vDC power supply...

its not always fatal depends on what is damaged internal
however it may be cost effective to just replace the unit
the power circuit in the tv needs to be checked and see what if any thing is damaged it then you can make a asesment of repair

Boss noise reduction pedal stopped working for no reason at all. worked fine the day before, went to use today no power at all. it is run from an adaptor so its not the battery, any clue?

The power jack on MANY of the pedals are weak and a yank sideways can damage the jack or the board it is mounted on.

ANOOTHER problem is using an adapter with the wrong size plug. SOME plugs have a larger diameter hole and will work intermittenly.

How to set up with amp and distortion pedal

With everything switched off. I will surmise that you are using the onboard battery with the foot pedal and not a power supply.
1. Plug lead from guitar/instrument into INPUT side of pedal
2. Plug lead from OUTPUT side of pedal into amplifier INPUT.
3. Turn amplifier volume to about 10 o'clock - to stop blowing your ears out.
4. Turn volume up on guitar to acceptable level.
5. press foot switch on pedal and adjust pedal controls to suit your type of distortion.
6. Play like Hendrix.
Good Luck
ps Just as an after thought rechargeable 9volt batteries are the way to go. I've been using them for years as I always get caught up in the power cable.
If you're going to add another pedal like a Phaser, Compressor, Flanger or what just use small connect leads between each pedal but always, always put the compressor pedal last in the line.

External power problem

It's actually the opposite. 1/8" jacks are almost always positive tip. I think you are best off using a 9VDC supply. If the voltage is not staying constant at 9 volts it could certainly do damage. If the supply you used was a negative tip positive sleeve you may have burned out a component or two...and more voltage than recommended could have done some other bad things. If it does not work with a 9VDC supply with the correct polarity you can fix it yourself if you have electronic experience. You could also send it to me and I'll fix it at a reasonable rate.

Evaporator comes on, but the condensor unit does'nt.

Have u checked at the compressor unit. There is a contactor than energizes the compressor is this contactor getting supply when u turn on the evaporator this contactor get energized see if this happens. If this is energized and you are getting supply to the compressor and compressor doesn't turn on 1.) compressor has thermal protection this might be faulty 2.) or the compressor has too much freon 3.) check if the windings of the compressor motor are not short to ground
