Honestly, if it is physically creasing the page as the pager comes out, I would suspect a mal-seated ink jet cartridge before I would suspect minute printer head alignment issues.
I would remove and reseat the ink jet cartridges, then reload the paper, making sure the edge is clean and fanned out (pages not sticking together) then try to print again.

Since you have changed a cartridge, you need to do some maintanance. First, try an allignment. It should be in your printer's included software. Try printing the page agian. If it doesn't work, then try cleaning the head. Again, this can be found in the included software. There should be a few levels. A test page is printed each time. You might want to try more than the first level, but each level onward uses more ink. Lastly, you might want to get some help from the manufacturer. If you got it refilled, then you should check with them.

Hope this helps.

Cannon D1150 I have a crease down the middle of the page as well as faint black ink. How do I correct this. this happens on envelopes as well.

Hello,
this sounds to me as toner cartridge fault.
Remove the crg and look at drum surface for streaks. If the streaks are on drum surface, replace drum ( toner ) cartridge if not the problem is in fixing assy.

Hope that helps!

I changed black cartridge and now it won't print mfc-490

Hi,
Print a self-test page
1. Make sure the printer is on and loaded with unused, plain, white paper.
2. Press the * and # keys at the same time and then press 1, 2, and 7 .
3. Press the Right-arrow key to select Reports and then press the OK .
4. Press the Left-arrow key and select the vpp self test . The test page prints.
That will help narrow down the problem. If it prints black on the test page, we know it is something to do with the software. If it doesn't print black on the test page then take help from here......... http://printers.iyogi.net/hp/hp-black-white-laser-printer.html

Hope ti helps..

Please follow the steps given below:

1. Please Load a plain paper.
2. Press and hold the "Scan" button for three seconds.
3. An alignment page prints.
4. Place the alignment page onto the scanner glass.
5. Press the "Scan" button.
6. Once scanning is complete, the cartridge has been aligned for optimal print quality. Alignment must be complete before continuing with any print jobs.

Printer is creating a crease and smudge down center of page.

There sounds like there is somthing in the path of the printhead. Using a flash light, remove back cover of machine and look for a small piece of paper, etc. Be careful not to jam anything in to th machine. It may take running a thick piece of paper through manually with your hands to remove the object.

HP 2420 sudden prints pages in all black

Most likely to be the toner cartridge is it OK on other programs such as the web explorer? If not change the toner cartridge you can also print out the configuration page by pressing the green tick and then using the up and down arrows select information press green tick to enter then move to "Print Configuration" and select using the green tick. If the page comes out OK then the print cartridge if fine if not try changing it. Also there maybe in the driver you have under printing preferences negative mode make sure that is not checked.

Failing this reinstall the print driver from HP Online if this still doesn't work then change the data cable if still not working then I suggest that the printer formatter board is faulty.

I do hope this helps you and please rate me
Thanks J
