Error Code F7 during Self-Cleaning

30 minutes after starting the self-clean cycle on my GE JGBP86WEA gas range, the F7 error code appears. From reading your advice to others with a similar problem, I've decided I may need to replace the ERC. Can you tell me what part number that might be?

Re: Error Code F7 during Self-Cleaning

This indeed indicates a problem with the Electronic Range Control (ERC). The part number for your range is 769758 and costs about $120. You can find the part at and have it shipped directly to you for a modest shipping fee. If you need further guidance let me know. I hope this information is helpful.

I did the self clean on my oven, and now the oven door will not unlock (E1-F5-) pops up onto the oven screen.

Error E1 F5 means that the control has detected a problem with door latch switch. Switch off the power and unplug it from the mains. Check after 5-6 minutes whether the error has disappeared. If the error is still there then once again start the self clean cycle. Press the self-clean button to start the cycle. The panel becomes blank (---), then press the up arrow (^). The panel will appear 3:00 (indication for the duration of self-cleaning). The oven will lock on its own and start the self-cleaning. After self cleaning is done wait for 15-20 minutes and open the door. Try moving the latch manually to unlock it. hope this helps...

Oven will not work.

This is what GE recommends for your oven:

“F—and a number or On models with a door latch, • The latch may have been moved, even if only slightly,
letter” flash in the display if a function error code appears from the locked position. Make sure the latch is moved
during the self-cleaning cycle, to the right as far as it will go.
check the oven door latch.
You have a function error code. • Touch the Clear/Off pad. Allow the oven to cool for
one hour. Put the oven back into operation.
If the function code repeats. • Disconnect all power to the range for 5 minutes
and then reconnect power. If the function error
code repeats, call for service.

Magtay self cleaning oven. I let it clean and now

Did you interrupt the cleaning cycle if so that is why the error code, or a power failure during the cleaning cycle. You may have to unplug the stove for five minutes and then plug it back up, it should reset.

Alarm sounds as F7 appears when oven is about 90 minutes into self clean

you may need to replace the main control..
F7 stuck keypad
Stuck keypad may mean relay is turned on.
Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.
