Question about Toshiba Satellite A135-S4427 Notebook

1 Answer

BIOS password. It seems I forgot my BIOS password. I originally had a password to boot it up. Then, I decided to remove the password. So where it said to type new password (in the BIOS), i simply left it blank. Since then, I havent been able to get back in. I already tried my previous passwords, and the default phoenix backdoors don't work. I have the most recent BIOS update and it seems to be  a Phoenix motherboard. I hear about flashing the BIOS through the software using MS-DOS, but how do I boot into DOS? Someone help.

well if it is truly a new computer, then may I suggest calling manufactures support? most are very helpful. I have allways gone into bios, where you will find an option to edit/ remove administrator password. for bios you will probably have to hit F5 or escape while the computer is booting up, and before it loads windows

TRICKS AND TIPS ON HOW TO ACCESS THE BIOS/CMOS WHENEVER YOU FORGOT THE PASSWORD

BIOS PASSWORD ARE USED TO SECURE YOUR COMPUTER BY PREVENTING OTHER USERS TO ACCESS YOUR COMPUTER'S BIOS SETTING OR MAKING IT UNBOOTABLE REQUIRING PASSWORD.

But in some cases, some people forgot the password.

HERE ARE THE TRICKS AND TIPS ON HOW TO ACCESS THE BIOS/CMOS SETTING WHENEVER YOU FORGOT THE PASSWORD.

SOLUTION1. RESET THE BIOS PASSWORD USING DOS COMMAND PROMPT.

1. Go to start menu and choose RUN. For other operating system like Windows 7 and Vista, just use the search bar and type the command prompt. Right click mouse and run as administrator.
2. type the word "debug" and press enter
3. type the code "-o 70 2e" and press enter
4. type the code "-o 71 ff" and press enter
5. type the letter "q" and press enter
6. type the word "exit" and press enter
7. try to restart your computer and it will remove the bios password.

SOLUTION 2. TRICK THE COMPUTER TO GENERATE BIOS PASSWORD.

Some computer can generate bios password when you enter 3 different incorrect bios password. Below message will appear:

Password check failed
Fatal error...System halted.
CNU9117K31

Use the last line as password. CNU9117K31

SOLUTION 3. USE BACKDOOR PASSWORDS

Dell inspiron mini 10 bios password

Step 1:
BIOS is the first function run by a computer when turned on. It is known as "Boot Firmware," and it checks and initializes other components in your computer, such as your video chip, hard disk or sound card. Because this is the initial process in a computer, it can be troublesome for users who forget their BIOS password and need to access the BIOS. There are several main strategies to attempt when trying to bypass a BIOS password, including accessing the hard disk (which should contain the BIOS password), trying backdoor BIOS passwords (backdoor passwords are generic passwords created by manufacturers in case the user password is lost or forgotten), and flashing the BIOS (flashing is the process of overwriting the original data with new data).

Enter the CMOS start-up menu when you turn on the machine by pressing DEL, F2, or CTRL + ALT + DEL during the boot sequence. Go to STANDARD CMOS SETUP. Find control options for the hard disk. Change both TYPE and MODE to: AUTO. Reboot the system. You will now have access to the hard disk. From this menu, you should be able to find basic system passwords, including the BIOS password. b> Trying Standard Backdoor Passwords For AWARD BIOS, try the following passwords: "AWARD SW, AWARD_SW, Award SW, AWARD PW, _award, awkward, J64, j256, j262, j332, j322, 01322222, 589589, 589721, 595595, 598598, HLT, SER, SKY_FOX, aLLy, aLLY, Condo, CONCAT, TTPTHA, aPAf, HLT, KDD, ZBAAACA, ZAAADA, ZJAAADC, djonet." For AMI BIOS, try the following passwords: "AMI, A.M.I., AMI SW, AMI_SW, BIOS, PASSWORD, HEWITT RAND, Oder." For all other types of BIOSes, try the following passwords: "LKWPETER, lkwpeter, BIOSTAR, biostar, BIOSSTAR, biosstar, ALFAROME, Syxz, Wodj." b> Flashing the BIOS in Software Access MS DOS and type "DEBUG" at the command prompt. This will bring up the DEBUG menu. Type the following code for AMI/AWARD BIOS (note: the Os are the letter "oh," not the numeral "Zero"):
"O 70 17
O 71 17
Q" Type the following code for Phoenix BIOS (note: the Os are the letter "oh," not the numeral "Zero"):
"O 70 FF
O 71 17
Q" If the previous steps yield no results, try the following code:
"O 70 2E
O 71 FF
Q"

I need to reset my password on my Dell Studio 1535.I forgot what it was and cannot start up without

When you boot up to the log in screen type in administrator as user to log in if you cant log in

Restart your computer during the boot up process you will see on the screen for a short amount of time press a certain key to enter set up press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS scroll down to set user password or supervisor password you can change or remove your password from there

if this fails to remove your password

The most common way that we know on how to reset or clear the BIOS password is to physically remove the power from the computer by disconnecting the power plug and then removing the Cmos battery for 30 minutes from the motherboard. Another way is to reset the clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard itself. Both of the 2 methods mentioned works because most motherboards use a battery to sustain the BIOS/CMOS settings for the motherboards PROM chip. So by cutting off cmos the battery power, the BIOS/CMOS settings will be erased.

click start control panel Open User Accounts in Control Panel. On the Users tab, click the name of the user whose password you want to change, and then click Reset Password. In New password and Confirm new password, type the new password, and then click OK. Notes You can change passwords only for local computer accounts, such as guest, administrator, or accounts you create for your computer. You cannot change your network logon password in User Accounts. To change your own password, press CTRL ALT DELETE and then click Change Password
also
if you are not the computer administrator and have not assigned a bios password during the boot up process you will see on the screen for a short amount of time press a certain key to enter set up Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS scroll down to set user password or supervisor password you can change or remove your password from there also click start control panel user accounts on the users tab, click the name of the computer administrator you must have full control can change the password there

hope this helps you

start a windows xp system up n safe mode then click on control panel ten user accounts then the specified user which is password protected and it allows you to change the password without knowing the original one. Restart the computer. Repeatedly press the F8 key until the Advanced Boot Options screen appears. Select the Safe Mode option using the up and down arrow keys, then press the ENTER key. Choose "Windows XP Home/Professional", depending on the version of the operating system. Press ENTER. Shortly, the welcome screen should show.
Log in as "Administrator". Click Yes to not use System Restore Mode.
Click the Start button. Choose Run and type in "control userpasswords" (without the quotes). Click OK.:
Select the "Administrator" user. Click Change my password. Enter a new password in the corresponding text boxes. Click OK. Write this password down and store it in a secure place. I do not recommend that a password hint be used.
Close the User Accounts window and restart Windows.:
hope this helps you:

Help..Can't boot and forgot bios password

If you can get to the CMOS battery, there should be a set of jumpers close by that should say Clear CMOS or CMOS reset, or something to that effect. There are usually 3 pins, and the jumper is between 2 of them. Remove the jumper and put back over the pin that was open, and the pin next to it that was jumped before. Leave it for a few seconds, then put back to original position. This should clear the bios, and all you in.

Good luck, and please rate me, OK?
