I've had my Sony for about a year and I've never had any problems with it. I turned it on one day, and it wouldn't take pictures. It says "Recording" in red, when I try to take a picture. It still takes videos in the Move mode though. It just won't take pictures. I never screwed around with the camera settings and I don't know whats going on! Can someone please help me?
You camera is just set to burst burst mode is taking multiple pictures in a single shot.
1.turn on yer camera
2. press the menu button
3. select mode (rec mode)
4.select normal instead of burst
5. select OK for every ptompt
pls reply if it worked

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!
