Ok your hard drive isnt recognized, it may not be connected. Try locating the hard drive. Sometimes it is accessible from a bay on the side or bottem, other times it is located under the keyboard, check that it is securely plugged in.

Why my acer aspire say system not found

The system cannot detect the hard disk drive. Before you start up, re insert the hard disk. Remove the memory card and clean it with soft cloth or tissue paper. After doing these..Start up your computer and see the results. If nothing happens, restart your laptop, hit F12 key & set the hard disk drive to first boot device then press the Enter key. wait till the OS comes up.

Hi Everyone , After trying to solve the start up

After this reply you will still not be able to start normally.
The boot to lan is trying to start off an image stored on a server, you normally only see this at a business.
Boot to CD is looking for a bootable CD like the disk used to install Windows.
Boot to hard drive is normal but from your post it appears that it cannot communicate with your hard drive. Normally, when you have hard drives issues, the file is corrupt and at this point the computer complains but is sounds like it just freezes which suggests to me that the controller is gone.
In short, in order to get this working you will probably have to buy a new hard drive and reinstall Windows from CD. Since the version of Windows you have is XP (if you have the disk) and support for it ended almost 3 years ago, you are probably better off just getting a new laptop. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsforbusiness/end-of-xp-support

There might be a problem in your Hard drive. If you have tried so, Try removing your hard drive and set it up again. If it still doesn't work. You may try using a recovery disk or the cd used to install the operating system. If still the error is appearing, try to reinstall the operating system. if still, I'm sorry you might need to replace your hard drive.

Hi!My laptop (HP G7000)can not boot, currently when I diagnose the hard disk using "BIOS Hard Disk Self Long test" I get this message"Failed - replace Hard Disk 1 (warranty ID - error code 10008". What...

Your hard disk has indeed failed, this is not an indication of a spyware problem. Your best bet, if the laptop is under warranty, is to contact HP for a replacement hard drive.

If, however, your are out of warranty or would prefer to do it yourself, it appears your laptop has a 2.5" SATA hard drive. You don't need a huge one, your failed hard drive was probably between 80-160GB. Do not get a hard drive with a PATA/IDE interface, or a 3.5" hard drive, as these will neither work nor fit in your computer.

There are several screws on the bottom of your laptop. You will not likely need to remove the entire laptop case, and many times the bottom of the laptop is labeled with icons or a description of the component beneath the panel in question. When you replace the hard drive, pay attention to the orientation of the old hard drive, as well as where any different size screws were placed.

Finally, you will need to restore your computer with a set of disks. As you will be replacing your hard drive, any restore partition that was previously on your computer will have been lost.

Please let me know if you have any other questions related to this issue. Thanks!

When I tried to install windows xp to acerpower desktop computer it gives me a message "set up can not find any hard disk drive press F3" . Thanx for helping me.

This means that you have a SATA hard disk and you need drivers to install the hard disk first and than to continue the installation of windows.
Enter the BIOS and check for a compatibility mode for the hard drive. It should be set on AHCI. Change this for compatibility mode and try to install the O.S.
If you don't have this function, insert the motherboard CD in the optical drive and a diskette in the floppy disk drive. Boot from the CD and a menu will appear. In this menu choose the option that will create you a SATA drivers diskette. After the insert the Windows XP CD in your optical drive. But be careful because you have to install the drivers first. After the installation process is on the way take a look on the grey bar situated on the bottom of the screen. Toward the beginning of this process, a message will appear that says Press F6 if you need to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver.
You have to be quick on the trigger to press F6 to install the drivers. After this step continue the installation as normal.

If you need further assistance or you haven't understood something leave a comment.
Cheers

It appears the hard drive is faulty.
Does the hard disk LED flash when the laptop boots up?
Go into the BIOS configuration and see it the hard drive is detected, (then Startup - Boot - and look at IDE HDD0 it should list the make and model of the hard drive).
If the hard disk is detected it still could be faulty. To test the hard drive, remove the hard drive and connect it to an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a working computer's USB port.
If the computer sees this as an external hard drive and you can open the various folders and files then the hard drive is OK and the fault could be the disk controller on the laptop's motherboard.
If the hard disk is not detected the it is faulty and you need to replace the hard drive in the laptop and install Windows etc. to get it working again.

Hi,

there are many reasons why, the computer would,nt find or see the Drive.
1:) the laptop drive, may need formatting.
2:) the drive, is not cabled correctly.
3:) the drive is faulty.

go into the bios setup, usually F2 Or esc Or Delete at setup. options sometimes appear briefly on screen. ** to enter setup press F2 Or similar**
find boot sequence or bootup order. and set the CD/DVD to become the first boot device.

Put your setup-install disk, in the dvd drive.
When rebooting the system, the computer will start a setup from CD/DVD. this will tell you that the drive is not found, or needs to be formatted. follow the on-screen options.

Finally, certain laptops only recognise, a drive of a certain size. install the original to see if this still works. Also check there are no limitation jumpers on the old-drive. ( small plastic bridging pins )
