Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console

1 Answer

PS2 Wireless Controller

My controller started responding to the "x" button when I pushed the "R2" button. Infact its like it hits "x" like twice and R2 twice. I thought itwas batteries but I charged them. There is a slight chance all batteries aren't at exact same charge level. Any suggestions? Its not a MadCatz, it looks just like the corded controllers.

I don't know how to connect my wireless ps2 controller from gamestop!

Should have come with a controller and a wireless adapter. The wireless adapter plugs into the PS2 where the controller would go. Probably has a sync button. Press it (the light will flash) and press the corresponding sync button on the controller. When the lights stop flashing on both it should be all set. Tough tell without a model number, though.

I purchased a playstation 2 console from ebay. The system boots up fine but when asked to push X the controller does not respond. I tried this with several games is it the controller?

Normally, when your console boots up fine and you want to issue a command from the controller and there is no response, this is as a result of a key from the controller. all you have to do is disassemble the controller, use a methylated spirit to clean up the soft controller rubber which the buttons rests on and re assemble it. your controller will work fine after this. i hope this helps.

Some buttons on controller not responding

Ask yourself a few questions: Is the PS2 overheated? Was it under any physical contact? Try plugging the PS2 in a different power outlet, then try taking out all controllers and plug one controller in the second player controller spot.
