Re: Cross talk

I have concluded the 1620AM radio station signal is being picked up by the handset circuitry in the 2541YRE3 series (where Y is either 3, 4, or 5). The 2540YRE3 series does not have this problem.

Re: Cross talk

The easy way is to buy a radio surpressor. You can find them at Radio Shack, I think. Unless you live very close to a radio station you probably have a ground on your phone line. this can happen either inside or outside you business. Also if you are using a long mounting cord, 25' and up this can act as an antenna and cause radio pick up. I would try to detremine if your problem is on the phone company lines or inside your business.
the question said cross talk, are you hearing the other lines while you are on one line? If so you may have inproper wiring inside your building. Multiple phone lines must be on twisted wire. If two lines are parrell for any measurable distance they will bleed over to the other line.

Rogers problems

This has become a growing problem:
  • As land lines have been reclaimed or replaced in the phone company networks;
  • As the growing older population has lost hearing sensitivity.
  • Because secondary carriers don't always receive the best or least crowded connectons (especially in case of residential versus business which pay more for service).
If you are getting static and cross talk (hearing radio or other people's converstations) notify the phone company and you will probably provided a new connection.

IF the problem is persistent without such interference, consider an amplified phone--some states (California for instance under Federal auspices) makes such equipment available free to hearing impaired. Also check the quality of your household wiring and connections.

Check with you neighbors--if they don't have the same problems, complain to the phone company. If they do, complain together.

Finally, some phones are simply too poor in quality to provide good sound. You might want to upgrade: either the phone set or its line or handset cord.

How do I choose the radio station for background music?

To my knowledge this setting is set at the main switch or PBX at your company or building. A technician would have to log into the main switch and program the new radio station, but that change would be for all phones in your office.

We have a panasonic kx-t7630 and our background mucic is horrible. how do we change it to something else or to the radio

Is it horrible because you own the business, or are you just an employee who doesn't like the promotion on hold?

Playing the radio as BGM with only a single source is illegal unless you pay royalties. Your boss may want the customers to hear what he as to say. Your radio listening pleasure isn't his concern.

If you have a TDA100 or higher system, there are 2 music sources. With luck, you can put a radio on MOH-2, and dial *7512 to hear it. If not, then dial *7510 and don't listen to anything.

There is a very loud buzzing on the phone when talking. Does this mean the battery needs replacing?

Because the cordless phones use radio frequencies to receive / transmit what you say and hear, it also picks up other radio interference. I sujest you move the hand set or base station away from other mains operated equipment as this will interfer with your phones.

Any time I use the phone I hear some guy speak in spanish in the background. The person I am calling can hear also hear this. It happens with every call. How can I get rid of this?

Does it sound like a spanish-language radio station, or like someone else's phone call?

It could be radio interference in your phone, in which case you'll want to install an RF choke on the phone cord, using something like this item from Radio Shack:

It could also be crosstalk from a neighbor's phone, in which case you'll want to call your phone company's repair number. That number should be on your phone bill, and they can walk you through troubleshooting steps.

I'm hearing radio stations in the background. This doesn't happen with any of the cordless handsets or other phones that I plug into same jack.

You have 2 things going on - a phone wire which is a simple CAT3 cable, probably running along the attic somewhere which is acting as an antenna and, you're probably close to where a AM station has its antenna. Rerouting your phone cable or better yet, upgrading the cable to CAT5 would eliminate this "feature".

I can hear, but not talk, on my ATS RA2184BB cordless phone.

Have you tried unplugging your base station and all the handsets?

Sometimes the base station, where the power and the telephone line plugs into needs a reset. Just like a computer sometimes it needs a reboot.

If problem presists, take a regular analog phone and plug it in to the same jack as the cordless phone bas station, and see if it is a cable issue/ telephone company issue.

Cross ring tone from other line

That problem is related to cross talk on the line, it is a difficult problem to solve, it could be cause by either the lines in the telephone system or even on the lines entering in the building. What some times happens to cause this is that somewhere on the line which is just a pair of cables, could be some water. If there is water connecting on two lines potentially, they could leak in to one another. You should make a service call with your telco company and have them put their ****-set on the lines at the demark to see if the cross talk happens there, if so than the responsibility is on the provider. If not it could be your telco responsibility. You should try and find out exactly what line the cross talk is happening on aswell.

I hope that helps.
