Question about Sony RDR-GX315 DVD Recorder
I have a sony dvd recorder rdr-gx350 and a sony bravia tv 26u2000 with built in freeview how can a record these channels no probs with 1 - 5 channels but dvd wont pick up freeview channels any ideas please
I have the same system, except for the TV, I have a project (that part doesn't matter).
From your Sat. go straight to your AV receiver
Again from you Sat. (all of the AV outputs are all live), go out from either 1 or 2 and go to your recorder Line 1 in.
From you AV receiver go to your TV.
All you have to do is hit record and you will record whichever channel you are on. I am having difficulty getting it set up as a PVR, but will figure it out sooner or later.
Hope this helped.

SOURCE: LG RH266 setup with freeview tv
Sorry to say no it wont not unless the Tv set manuel says it has a Duel Freeview feed , you have to get another freeview box for the recorder .
besides If you used the freview in the tv 1 , the tv would have to be on when you wanted to record ?. and 2 you couldnt watch another channel whilst recording another .. only 1 tuner ?. also you could only record the program you had on .at the time no timer facility .
People are still used to the Old system of VHs and the fact that all videos had tuners built in so you could watch and record .. It will come and indeed some more modern DVD recorder have freeview built in again sorry but thats the facts , and dont forget if you want the pay per view channels on free view your going to need a tuner with a pay card port ... You need to "finalize" the dvd you created - usually on the machine that you created it on. The SONY RDR-VX525 finishes recording, then you have to go to the system menu and follow the prompts to do the "finalize". As it's finalizing, it should the word finalize on the front panel display. It'll run about a minute or two and then just stop without telling you what it did. It should be ready to play on any dvd player.

Ok you might need to have it cleaned professionaly worse comes to worse have the lens replaced, something ether got on the lens or the laser is not reading or writing correctly. Can it be fixed? Sure depning on the problem inside I could not tall you 100 p[ercent as I have not looked at the unit.
You might want to take a gander inside and see if the lends is not dirty.
Thanks an please rember to leave postive ratings and feedback.

Hi and welcome to FixYa
Initially, postback the model number of the Comcast digital adapter and the TV.
Offhand, if the Comcast digital adapter is connected to the Sony through a coaxial patchcord, then the Sony would really have to be set to Ch 4 (or 3). Channel selection is done on the Comcast digital adapter. It is not possible to record one channel while viewing another.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa
