My xbox360 doesent read anything it says unplayable disk

your disk drive is messed up try taking disk out then shoving the tray back in fast then the lazier will reset if that doesn't work go to system settings then go to memory hover over your hard drive click y then clear system cache if thay doesent work contact xbox at 1-800-4my-xbox

If your Xbox 360 will not play your games this is because of the sensors on the back of the drive overheating it is not normally the laser.

Luckily you can fix this yourself and get back to your games and to do this you need the proven Xbox 360 Repair guide.

Or you can send it in and they will fix it for you the repair will take about 4 weeks.

So it is not normally anything wrong with your drive just the overheating!

"to play this disc, please put it in an Xbox360" error is caused by one of two things.
1) Dead/Dying laser- Replace it or try to adjust the variable resistor on the laser lens. (USE a micrometer on the 20k setting and a 1.8mm flathead)
2) Incorrect drive key- If you "fixed" your initial problem by buying a new dvd drive, and putting it into the console. You no longer have the correct dvd key to match the Xbox360 motherboard. IF both drives are the same brand. You can simply remove the green pcb from the old drive and put it into the new drive. (be CAREFUL with the ribbons!!) If you did purchase a new drive, and already threw away the old drive, you're screwed the Xbox will NEVER play a game again, unless you download it from Xbox Live.

Try blowing in the cd drive to get any dust off of the laser that could be one of the causes if it doesn't work then send it into microsoft if warranty is good if not then you try poping open the 360 yourself and try look at the disc drive but more than likely if it doesn't read anything thing then your better off at getting a new disc drive, that includes if it doesn't read dvds. let me know if cant fix it and you don't want to buy a new cd drive.

something is wrong with the disc drive,if u got a return plan on your xbox360 that would probably be your best bet

the xbox360 drive is exposed to dirt and dust, a poor design, especially if the xbox is placed horizontally on a carpeted floor, the lens can be blown clean with a low pressure air supply. I use a vaccuum cleaner on blow, with a piece of fish tank air hose to reduce the nozzle size small enough to go inside the drive, does not take much to do it. a can of pc air, liquid air for cleaning keyboards also will do it

many people put the xbox on the floor, the cooling fan sucks all kins of **expletive** into the open drive. a small piece of fishtank hose to the blow nozzle of a vaccuum cleaner, to blow loose the debri, and then **** it out. try not to disassemble the xbox, MS will void the extended red ring of death warranty for any opened xbox

#1: The "eye" under the disk tray that reads the disk might be dirty or damaged.
#2: the lazer lenze might also b damaged.
#3:if none of these work then call up microsoft and send ur 360 in and get it fixed

I also had the same problem as u. All my disks were unplayable.
