Question about Hotpoint 24 in. FDW60 Free-standing Dishwasher

1 Answer

Leaking FDW60 I have a Hotpoint FDW60 dishwasher. yesterday it tripped our house electrics and then we had water flooding out of the dishwasher. Through a process of elimination I have now discovered that water is leaking from the drainage sump in the centre of the babse down onto the motor or other electrics. I have looked for loose hoses and there are none visible from the base of the dishwasher, can you give some ideas where the water might be coming from?

Re: leaking FDW60

Had a similar problem when I removed the lower spray arm for replacement (see ) and didn't put the centre retaining nut back. It might be worth checking the lower arm is screwed in tightly as the retaining nut prevents water escaping.

Please help I have a aquarius FDW60 . The problem

It is likely the flood switch at base of dishwasher has activated due to a leak.

You will have to dry the leak and then try again.
Make sure the mains power is shut when you are working on the dishwasher to avoid electrocution.

Trips power when it is turned on at the on/off switch. There is a little bit of water on the baseplate so obviously a leak but i can't see it. Anyone know of common leak points on these machines ? Thanks...

Go to the Hotpoint website - there is a trouble shooting section. Failing that find the customer service number on the website and ask if there is anything you can do to solve the problem yourself before paying for a service call. I would alway opt for safety where electricity and water are concerned though. Good luck

Leaking dishwasher fdw60

Try the corrugated hose that the water is pumped out through. It may have a small hole which leaks and creates the trip. It's happened to me.
